I just got home for the right eye surgery. The doc said it went well.
What do you have to say about how it went? When my wife had hers done, she was amazed at how much better she could see by the time she got home, 1.5 hrs after surgery.

My eye is still very dilated. I can see with it, but to bright.

Sorry to hear that. I hope that your pupils recover soon!

Atropine, the active agent commonly used to dialate eyes, has widely varying sensitivity in the population, and some individuals can be quite sensitive, as in 1/10th of the "normal" dose. It is said that blonde hair or blue(ish) eyes has a correlation with high sensitivity. I know folks with high sensitivity and neither.

All the best,

Peter

Tomorrow will be like a new day for you with the improved vision. Dilation will be mostly gone by then and you will have your 'new' vision.

If you think it's clear now wait a few weeks.

My eye is still dilated this morning.
My dilation lasted into the 2nd day, too. But vision started to clear, and it was impressive.

Still taking eyedrops. I can't really get the full effect of my better eye now (the one that was repaired) until I can get a new prescription and right lens for my glasses.

Just got home from second. Doc said it went well.
That's great. I am still waiting on new glasses so I can make better use of my new peeper. I don't like this "mono-vision" stuff.

Going for my checkup this morning. I swear I could see better 2 weeks ago at this time when my 1st eye was done. Maybe I was lucky that time.. :D

For me, I could see a big difference right after surgery. But my vision kept getting better as time went on - maybe my brain adapting to my "new" eyes? It was probably 2 - 3 months before I REALLY began seeing well.

Brother's father in law recently had both eyes done prior to Thanksgiving.

He is 80 and extremely pleased... 20/20 in both...

No issues reading the paper and ready for his Driver's License renewal in March.

Sorry I've not posted here but I did do my final post surgery visit last week and my eye doc (ophthalmologist or optometrists?) who said my eyes are both now 20/20 and eye pressure never deviated from normal. I'm going to get myself some transitional eye glasses with 1.5 readers. (y)

if I began seeing a dark curtain over part of my vision
I'm just now seeing (hahahaha) this thread. Pardon that I'm so tardy.

Question if I may...can you describe the curtain? Maybe I'll describe why.

1. I now wear bifocals/progressives. (went from eagle eyes, straight to to bifocals)
2. I told the doc about the following:

As I'm sitting here typing, looking through my glasses, everything (EVERYTHING) is fine & super. Maybe later today, maybe in three months.... I might experience what I'd call an "opaque curtain / blob" that will appear. Usually it's on the upper half of my field of view but, it might be to the side. It's not a straight line difference... more like maybe someone spread some vasoline over part of my eye blocking or softening the covered portion. I feel ZERO pain, ZERO discomfort, ZERO anything. It's literally like a shade..... I can blink, quickly move eyes and the shadow would still be there. It might droop down to cover more than the starting amount. Meaning, instead of covering 15% of my field of view, it might go to 25%. Then....20-30 minutes later, it clears up, gone, as though it never happened. It's annoying but so far, I don't feel any threats by it.

Went to the Eye Doc (he's now retired, but was opthomolithist however I know I butchered the spelling!)

If I recall his comment, he wasn't worried....he saw nothing. I have them do all the optional (that I pay for instead of insurance) pictures & scans so we have baseline measurements. If I recall his comment, it was something like "if this happens and you're near a hospital, maybe go to the emergency room and get an X-ray.... It might be (or did he say he wondered if?)

Anyway, it might be an ischytmitic (spelled wrong again) attack and if it is, I might need medical attention.

WHA?

It happens so infrequently, just several times a year, I usually have forgotten about it. But the way I'd describe it is like a shade being pulled over part of my eye so, your description caught my eye (no pun intended!)

:)

I realize this isn't a medical forum lol, but if you/anyone has any thoughts......
