2019 ford ranger review....

So I traded the Ranger for a 2024 Chevy Colorado. I know their 8 speed transmissions are far from bullet proof but I was reluctant to hand any more money to Ford
Apparently that transmission had some issues when it was first introduced with "shuddering". Not sure what that means, and my 2019 hasn't done it since I've had it (knock knock). I bought it used, so whatever updates that fixed that issue may have been done by the PO.

Oil was changed yesterday and the dealership said that will likely fix the surging and bring it back if it shows up again. For the drive home it didn't.

It didn't fix it, or it didn't surge?

I have been reading your long term review and retired the 03 f150- for a 24 ranger STX(bare bones). I looked at replacing the f150 for yet another but they have grown in size and the wife can no longer reach the bed floor from the bed side. This is what pushed us into a ranger. I must confess, these rangers are not small any longer. Size is close to my 73 f100. The choice of bare bones was intentional - we hope that less will break over time due to less technology. However, bare bones feels like "Startreks Enterprise" compared to the rest of my fleet.

We still like the darn truck at 65K. No, its not a perfect machine bot its size is easier to drive around town. We subsequently got a 22 Bronco and its nice as well but hardly have any miles on it.
