I am a fan of rail and sail combinations, here is a nice with this view at CN-Hallett Dock 5 as a loaded limestone train passed by the H. Lee White unloading, you guessed it, limestone. Duluth, MN - October 25, 2024

Is that the one that used to sit on the south side of the Ireland road exit on the 20 bypass?

I think it was in a neighborhood park somewhere in the Scottsdale area. Before that, it was on the north side of Jefferson on the east side of Mishawaka as an advertisement for some machine shop, as I recall.

Radio controlled locomotive pushing at rear of train didn't respond to commands when train stopped. Kept trying to push.

My father passed away earlier this year, then my step-mom passed in August. So now we're cleaning out the house. It's been been a real process as they lived in the house for almost 40 years. But it's also a bit of a treasure hunt. About 30 years ago my father got into model trains. Found his train box, all N scale.

There are a lot more, every drawer is pretty full, but here's a few. I ordered a bit of track and some lubricants to see if they still run. My best guess is they haven't seen the light of day in 10-15 years. Also found a bunch of buildings that he built and painted, he was learning how to make them look weathered.

Sorry for your loss, great find though.
When my FIL passed, his train set and some other items went missing.

Great find! I was into N gauge trains for a while. Then we had children. All kids want to do is see how fast they'll go, so many derailments.

My father had a great HO layout that he built. All the scenery, weathering, mountains, tunnels, etc... all on a 4x8 sheet of plywood on a counterweighted frame so it would fold up against the wall. One day I went over there and it was gone. He sold it.

I would have liked to have kept it, and so would one of my sisters for her boys. Dad wasn't a real sentimental kind of guy when it came to things like that. But, I still miss him.

30 years ago, I started to help him building the track. He would be the modeler, I was going to do all the mechanicals and electric. But then.. I had kids and then I moved and my business expanded... and life happens. I still have one of the train tables I built. It's in the garage holding up a bunch of stuff off the floor, but no track on it.

Two new GE rebuilds ease an empty ore train around the new loop as the last trio of C40-8s in the ore pool depart light as L594 (MRF) for Wales to pick up cars for Keenan, the units presumably never to return (although they will see limestone duty out of Proctor for a bit). No, they were in private ownership on the siding at a business. The guy practically had a rail museum there. If you look close, there is a also a rotary snowplow behind the DD40X, as were several other work cars.

Behind the head-end unit of the the turbine, was the "B unit" which held the turbine engine, and behind that was an old UP steam engine tender that had been converted to carry (and heat) bunker C oil to feed the turbine.

Behind the turbine set was also a railcar set, not sure exactly what you call them, but it was the set shown on this website, the CBQ Tom Sawyer.

As far as I know, it has all been moved out of there now, but at the time, it was all just sitting out in the open and you could just stop beside the street and walk over to look at it.

Would probably be covered with graffiti if left there now.
