Had a church meeting outside around a fire pit. I forgot to take a picture. He has 6 swings on a trellis structure surrounding a brio fire pit in the center. Really nice. Too warm for a fire, but we all enjoyed sitting and talking. Just a pretty day out.

Did start looking at class B and C on RVtrader. Pricy also, even used.

I've been trying to source name brand coil packs for my 2019 Ford V10.
prices range from 110 for no name to 275 for NGK to 650 for oem.
Drew, there are numerous reports of the aftermarket coil packs being seriously cheaply made and failing quickly. The NGK brand isn't any better. The only recommendation is to stick with Ford....

Happy Birthday Dennis.
Buckeye, do you need a bunkhouse version of rv?
gets very crowded putting folks up in living room, wondered what your plans were.
for two or lots more?

I remembered I had an OBD reader in garage so this weekend want to plug that in and see if it shows source of the miss at idle. I also have a lot of whistling noises that I thought was a bad pcv valve, so we replaced that, no change. So yes, maybe a vacuum leak somewhere. Way over my paygrade but thankfully that Mennonite truck repair place in Souderton PA will fix everything, including my squashed entry step.

Buppies did not show up, not sure if our wires were crossed or he has other challenges.
he is a good man and has his hands more than full

yikes
they are 45 bucks a piece vs 10. NGK is 27
ok, that really makes me want to identify one possibly bad coil pack and just replace that with an oem one.
thanks

yes, those shrink wrapped Chinese coil pack sets do not give off a feeling of quality.
I wonder who makes Ford's? Some Motorcraft supplier?

had a lovely afternoon reading my book outside despite lawn crew kicking up huge clouds of dust everywhere. Leaves are turning color, nice to see
as expected lot of truck noise here due to the I-81 being about 1/4 mile away.

no one at desk today and folks coming in wondering what to do.
I helped a few of them, there were two more reservations besides mine, and as long as they didn't park in those spots, seemed to be first come first served.
one older German couple pulling a giant fifth wheel were somewhat entertaining.
He was determined to not unhook his trailer. Which 98% of the time fifth wheelers do.
Plus his site is not level and out come the boards and his trusty three foot level he kept putting on side of rv. Whatever works. I'm sure he's got auto leveling but you have to unhook first...

guy across from me has new 40 foot Brinkley toyhauler. Immense triple axle thing.
Brinkley new brand known for good quality. I asked him if he had found that to be the case. Oh no...problems with Lippert frame and cracks in wall, water leaks, plumbing not even connected after he paid four grand for a preinspection survey.
I guess this is why Airstream continues to get folks to pay triple for one of theirs.

Lovely day

Stacked more firewood. Still have a few places with firewood before have to saw up some logs

The sagging beam in the corn crib is now up to level. The wedged in 4x4's worked actually better than jack posts. Whack it with a sledge, leave it for a week and do it again and repeat. There is daylight under the center post now.
Have to come up with the support for the beam, perhaps 2x12 screwed in with ledger screws may be the easiest. At least it is somewhat square

Well, it's now a done deal.... fighting with the bureaucracy is finally over with!
Took 3 years and a lot of aggravation, but now everything is corrected. Now it should be a lot simpler to organize our finances.

All I have to say is WHEW! Now our full retirement plans can come to fruition

Sons NGK doing well.
Drew, would want a full size bed. No bunk. Separate shower. Smaller vehicle the better. Saw Winnebago that would be good, except the curved bed at one side.
Even used hard to justify $75-$100k

My son had a local shop replace 1 coil pack for $150 or more. When he had issue with another I ordered from rock auto, and showed him how easy it was to change. They were never interested in learning auto stuff until they had to pay.

have to kill some time tomorrow in Winchester VA because Candy Hill campground is notorious for charging extra fees. So not one minute before 1pm check in. The nickel and diming of rv'ers has earned them scathing online reviews. But they are at least still open.
So I found this museum in Winchester and Wednesdays are free.

Buppies is ok. His wife is not. Let's all send some good karma his way.

Lou, great job on the brakes.

mine is a 29 and that's about the smallest you can get a walk around rv queen bed in.
If I had to do this rv again, I'd look for one with a murphy bed in it, opens up more room inside. But who wants to pay 120k for a highly depreciating asset...

I paid 68k for mine and will likely get 55k when I sell it. You rarely get anything for lots of upgrades other than being justified to stay firm with your price. I put the upgrades in to make my trip better and they sure worked.

Happy Birthday BEF! When you shop for your BD gift you really go big - RV!

It reached a high of 90˚ this afternoon. No rain very dry. Water Temp is a shivering 75˚, so the pool has turned into a visual water feature for the rest of the year, kind of like lake front property on a smaller scale.

I figured right that old people don't like to rush their coffee in the morning. No lines voting early early (7:30 a.m.).

Did a Costco run spent les than $100. No luck in finding new dining room chairs in Austin. Any nice ones on-line?

Good Evening Lou,
Damn I'm feeling old now, came in took a couple of Tylenol and cooling off and time for a refreshing shower.
Your not alone Lou, Town Fair Tire did the same thing to me a few years ago ! I had to get 4 ft pipe to break the lugs free !
These days I start working outside at about 8:30 and by 2:30 I’m kind of beat !
Really don’t like it but what’s the alternative? 😉

It is a PITA to digitize vinyl. I have done it a few times with Audacity. It takes about 5 times longer then just putting the album on and you lose sound quality!

I use “Spin it Again” software, it works pretty well, separates the tracks into individual tracks and can usually find the album info and properly name the tracks.
But it the grand scheme, yes it’s a PIA compared to just using Spotify.

today marks another year around the sun for me. Yesterday my mom would have turned 100, but made it to 91. Can't believe she's been gone over 8 yrs already.
Happy Birthday, BEF!

Belated Happy Birthday, Buppies!
Well, come on down! ---- might take a while on the e-bike though.....
That cannot happen now. CBSA wont let me in the country. It seems that since I own pot stock, I am a producer of demon weed and in-admissible. I haven't got a passport either.

my inlaws used to camp for a week at Candy Hill with our boys when they were little. My mother in law still has their older RV bus (pre slides) parked in the barn. Someone is supposed to be getting the money to buy it, for several years now...... I don't even remember the brand. They did one trip out west with it and several local places every year. I just remembered she still had it.

We are going camping this weekend with 2 other couples in PA, will be right beside the turnpike. I need to start getting the camper ready.

Drew, stop at Summit Point, and see what your RV will do on the track.:ROFLMAO:

They have opened 2 new tracks since I was there. I did the big original track. Got to do pit maneuvers in addition to racing. tore up some cars.

Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 9.7C and it's presently 20.0C, partly cloudy with an odd breeze.

A quick trip to the shop that's closing down resulted in no spare chimney cap... turns out that they'd been downsizing for quite a while and wood heaters/supplies were one of the first things to go. Oh well, it's not a priority, it's just nice to have a spare.

Today is 'into town' day for a script and groceries.

That's about it, take care all.
