I have the same mentality WRT all of my vehicles. Neutral color, no custom license plate, etc. The last thing I want, given my sometimes aggressive driving, is to be memorable or easily identified.
Same here. They're all relatively nondescript to start with, then debadged.

And perfect for me, we have "support our troops" plates that are basically illegible at any kind of distance. Have those on all of them, well worth the extra $17 and also for the original good cause.

Here is what I like about a 1500 class truck. Got a drill press, welder, a tote, 15 gal of gas, 5 gal of diesel, a vice, and some misc other stuff; all under a cover. Sure it's probably only 500# of stuff; but I wouldn't want 15 gal of gas in an SUV, and a trailer, you'd need to strap or secure stuff, and then also figure out a way to cover it to keep the rain off, which is always a pain in the butt on a trailer; unless you have an enclosed box trailer, which most people dont.

Oh, I'll go ahead and say it; yes all of those cans are beaten up, half caved in, and look like he'll. Every one of them was free, found on the side of the road through the years. Dang metal cans aren't cheap anymore.

Edit: I still have a love-hate relationship with those vinyl bed liners. Crap slides like crazy, and it gets worse with some spilled oil and water; But at the same time; stuff slides easy to unload. I keep a magnesium concrete comalong in the bed to pull stuff to the back for easy unloading.

Those drop-in liners are evil, I think.

Aside from stuff sliding all over the place, which is just an inconvenience, the paint damage and rust issues they tend to cause is bad.

Ha ha... When you say it yourself, i wouldnt hesitate to give you my keys 🙂
We're taught to drive defensively. But then we're also taught that the best defense is a good offense. So... drive offensively. :ROFLMAO:

It's a balance for certain when it comes to how much we have to pay in taxes vs. what services we get for those taxes.
Also, how much government debt a country will accept. And how much money gets printed.

In Southern Europe people never payd much taxes, the government just printed what they needed, thereby devaluating everybody elses savings. Its deeply embedded in the culture so no government that wants re-election will change that. Neither their retirement age, they retire 10 years sooner than us but the French torch the streets when a politcian even just hints that they need to work longer to be able to afford their standard of life.

Thats why the EU is a brittle house, our Northern economies are paying the taxes, but they also suffer the inflation from the ECB that keeps printing money to bail out Greek and Italian banks. We are f'd both ways. Meanwhile all this excess credit finds its way into the real estate market, meaing that only people with twice average income can buy an old house that needs work. Buying a new family home takes three average incomes.

I hear similar reports from Canada, though their economy isnt tied to others through the same coin..?..

Always seems to circle back to poor choices in governance.

Never had any rust issues due to a bedliner, then again most bed rot here in the northeast comes from road salt accumulating underneath. As long as the weep holes are clear don't see how a liner can cause rust.
Can be a PITA to cut holes in them so they don't cover up the factory bed hooks.
The sliding can work both ways...as paulsharvey noted it can be a good thing when sliding cargo in and out.
