Good Morning,
Vt, 55 to start going to 79 ! Another beautiful sunny day with bright blue skies! I will need to make a dump run before we leave today !

Drew, that is an awesome looking Jeep ! I’m guessing that the land yacht is equally impressive!

We went for a nice cruise late yesterday out on the lake. We put the tonneau cover back on when we left ! We did get a lot of use out of it this past weekend! I usually pull the boat in early October !

Plans other than the dump will be some clean up time before we go. Would like to layout the mortices on the rear legs but not sure if I have time for that !

Paul , good story on the shower faucet! When ever we go to a strange hotel, Kathleen usually asks me how the shower control works ! 😉 An honest mistake !

Hope all have a blessed and safe day ! 🙏

Thanks for the clarification.
Down here TSC sells it for $19/US gallon.
After conversion to CDN money that would be about $30. including sales tax.

Do you tell her, turn it on and water comes out. Turn it off and water stops coming out. :ROFLMAO:

Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 5:00AM. A mix of clouds and sun. High around 80F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.

Got almost all of the light switches dumbed down yesterday, except for two that control ceiling fans. I'm having trouble finding the original switches, and I'm hoping they're down south, so that's on the list for next time.

Neighbor with the giant backhoe sez he might come down today to take down a couple trees. Not sure what I'll get into, but there are a bunch of little jobs on the list to choose from.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend...

56 outside this AM, heading to lower 80's.

Seems like fall weather these last few days.

Happy Anniversary, Ken.

Was a road trip day, yesterday. Recovered some furniture and tools for the daughter. Good to see pass down from her grand parents. Sad in a way.

Got the farrier coming by in a few, time to get busy. Will be a crazy work week ahead, time crunch on a lot of things and need to find new ways to get things done.

Hope all have a great day, relax, reflect, recharge. Be safe.

good morning all
52 in Verdi AZ, I expected it to be colder but nice and warm in here with one small heater on. Coffee pot making its noise as I await the brown stuff.

no plans for today other than dealing with 30-40mph winds this afternoon.
going to try to take some walks, maybe get the ebike out, but not much to see other than what I walked to last night. Funny I'm at the end of the first line of rv's so I"m about 100 feet from California it appears

Plowhog I'm waving to you, you can't be too far away.

had a long phone call with sister last night, preparing for this week. I'll get into Marin Co monday afternoon after going to the tractor museum (I hope, parking is still a big question) in Woodland CA in the morning.
Then she will come get me on Tuesday morning, the first day of which I hope to do my wash there and do nothing but sit on her deck and look at the Pacific Ocean. Just like David does every day...
My sister's home in Muir Beach isn't that far away but congested windy road probably puts the drive at 45 minutes. My sister is a leadfoot so who knows her time...

coffee beckons

Yesterday I replaced the dusk to dawn light that got clobbered last winter by a falling oak branch. It's on a metal pole with a control box on the pole about waist high. The control box had #12 wires, black white green. OK. Wires at the top of the pole were #10, black and white only. That was the first oddity. Hmmm. I could barely reach the fixture on top of the 18 foot pole while standing on a 12 ft ladder using the pole for balance. Had to be v-e-r-y careful. After wiring, I flipped the breaker and the LED light glowed but did not light up. Hmmm. Went up the ladder to check it, grabbed the metal pole for balance, and felt tingling. Uh oh. Touched my meter probe to the metal pole and it was energized with 120v. Ahhh. When the falling branch hit the fixture, it caused the wire insulation all the way at the top to be chafed where it was not visible. Not a good combo with a metal pole. All works now and the LED even lights up.

Everyone have a great day !!!
I have a love/hate relationship with electricity....Thankful you didn't get jolted bad on top of a ladder! Recipe for a life ending event.

I never liked ladders even when I was a volunteer fireman.
sure taught me to never buy a cheap ladder, type 1 or 1A for me.
I've tried the folding ones, never worked well for me, pinched my fingers, and were too heavy.

I grew up with a 30 foot wood extension ladder on the farm.
I don't know how we even carried that thing, it was sure heavy.
and the pull rope would get jammed, took a lot of muscling around.

best thing I did was be trained on ladder safety and technique at fire training. Lot of folks get hurt on ladders. IF you can't make it safe, don't go up it...

I always thought the guys who went up on the roofs to ventilate were the bravest out there. You just didn't know when the whole roof would let go and plunge you down into the fire below. I didn't mind going in burning buildings, wearing a Scotpak, with burning stuff falling on me, because my feet were on the ground. Plus we always worked with buddies on interior work. That was one of the reasons I had to quite active firefighting, my back got bad enough I couldn't be sure I could haul my buddy out. Some of them weighed 300 pounds...including the chief of police. Gosh he's still around and I see him once a year at community night out night.

And he still kids me about chasing me at age 16 when I was out too late bussing tables at Odettes restaurant and he caught me driving by the diner at 2pm.
I panicked, took off, knew my father would kill me for not "coming straight home", as we lived a couple miles from the restaurant. No I went through town to see what was happening on Sat night at 2am. And the chief saw me, recognized my car immediately, and took off without lights on to tell me to please just go home. I panicked, took off, slid on a windy road into a culvert and flipped my immaculate white 58 Impala on its roof for about 300 feet skidding down the road. It was upside down, roof had hit the dash, thankfully only tapped my head for two stitches and high beams shooting up into the sky. And someone got that picture. Chief told me I wasn't going to get a ticket (this was a small community and my father was well respected) and that I had scared the heck out of him by taking off.
He knew I wouldn't make it, and the idea of me getting hurt was most on his mind. Live and learn.

where I'm headed tomorrow is the tightest campground I've ever been in.
can't put out awning, I think small slide will work. I believe the sites are 20 feet wide. I'll be getting out a bunch to eyeball this so I don't hit something expensive. All the utilities are at the very rear, glad I have extensions.

there is no other campground around, no wonder, those gas guzzling rv's need to be banned! After I spend lots of money here of course...

washing restrictions here and next stop, so today will be a quiet bug cleaning to the front end.
We want your rv to be new and shiny but no you can't wash it here. Huh?

time for breakfast, eating last of my home made eggs; really did get three meals out of that Bill. But, woe is me, did not get to cook my cherry pie last night. Was going to celebrate losing another pound, but I didn't...
same weight as last week. Oh well, ten pounds off so far, progress may be slow.

Have a nice Sunday everyone
