Fending off violent intruders will get your gun confiscated as evidence at the very least and you may never get it back or take years to get it back.

Of course the bad guys know this.

This at the station I buy gas

Even then I bet a new weapon is less $$ than the items stolen in most cases and have in your hands just as fast as you get to the nearest FFL.

It's a thing using a stolen vehicle as a battering ram...

Many no longer accept cash but cartons of cigarettes are easy to sell.

One that I was a witness and had to go to court many times did 12k damage to the mini-mart for $1500 in cigs plus stole a late model car and destroyed it...

Back when I was a service manager for an alarm company in Florida, I had a customer who ran a Sony/JVC audio store near Disney in a upmarket strip mall.

About every other month we were in the store, hooking sensors back up on the front doors, as well as glass break sensors on the windows.

Then listening to the owner of the store Bit$$ and moan because the alarm system didn't stop someone from stealing a vehicle and driving it through the front doors

I then would explain that the system did it's intended purpose which was notify authorities.

I told him if he wanted someone to quit driving through his store front, then they needed to put concrete pillars up at a narrow enough distance apart to to prevent a vehicle from hopping the sidewalk.

She may not get the gun back but she's still alive and the would be thieves got the message.

If it were me, I'd have done the same thing, hopefully with better aim.

It wasn't her gun so she lost nothing, while possibly saved her life.
I do suggest that the store owner invest in shooting lessons for his employees though. ;)

Concrete filled steel pipe Deadman are becoming popular in preventing vehicle assaults on buildings.

Many of the new cats are no match for a properly sized Deadman.

The only things that seem to work are heavy duty steel roll down doors and yards fenced with multiple dogs enough to draw attention.

We had barbed wire at the commercial fenced parking lot but after 25 years city passed ordinance banning barbed and razor wire so down it came...

We have a 10ft tall electric fence around the yard at work. It's just inside the perimeter barbed wire fence. So someone would have to work at it to try to disable it.

It puts out 7,000 volts if I need to I can crank it up to 15,000.

7,000 volts will make your hand go numb for an hour. You can ask one of my coworkers about that one

Not one of my customers or visitors will touch that fence

I've seen warehouse area protected by electric fence but still very controversial in the city limits and as you mention it is a fence inside of a fence.

Wire Cutters or a Cordless Disc Grinder opens a lot of doors and then there is brute force...

Many of the Asian and Latin homeowners spend money on wrought iron residential perimeter fencing... plus dogs.

I have owned the property for 13 years. gate went up as soon as I bought it. No issues since we moved here 3 years ago, until now.
Interesting. Did they break open the gate, or were they able to drive/walk around it?
