Good morning!!!!

71°F and .08 inches rain

Finished mowing my middle area yesterday, just the Hilo end left. Likely not today. Have some piddling about to do.

My seed germination is disappointing, not much to show 10 days in. May need to evaluate and just get some starters from store.

H&F here at our house this afternoon . I’m trying a new Kabocha Shrimp curry recipe.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Never thought I would here Kabocha, shrimp and curry in the same sentence.
Let us know how it is, certainly sounds interesting.

Good Afternoon,
I bush hogging both sides of the DW and coming up through the lawn area, went to raise the bush hog up and nothing is happening! 😳. Uhoh, what did I break now ? Looked behind me and I see I’m dragging this black line behind me ! Somehow one of the hydraulic lines disconnected. I wish I had the locking couplers. I don’t , and it was a bit of a bear to hook back up hydraulic oil coating the fitting, but we got it ! Have never had that happen in owning the tractor for the past 20 years ! 😉

I’ve made this soup a number of times. Always a favorite. This is my starter recipe.

I’ll also made and added turkey meat.

My thought for today is maybe a bit thicker, add the shrimp, up the curry using Japanese style (Golden Curry). Serve over rice.

86F and sunny @ 14:15, calling for a high of 86F. Low this morning was 56.5F. LWS reports the high yesterday was 86.7F.

Felt warm in the afternoon but cooled off a little later and was very pleasant.

Got about half the leaf mold cleaned out on that planting bed under the maples along with some sticks, 5 bucketloads hauled up and added to the compost pile.

Hauled Water Buffalo over with the Cub in anticipation of planting more hosta.

Swapped out the LM bucket for the shrub bucket and got another clump of hosta dug out.

Got that divided up, maybe another dozen starts, loaded those in the dump cart.

By that time it was getting late and I needed to do something about dinner so ordered Chinese.

Swung by the grocery which is next door and picked up another list of items for The Woman.

She is about the same, still having hearing problems. Makes it very difficult to communicate.

Agenda for today:

Get hosta planted.

Load up sprayer with new stink juice which should be "ripe" by now and spray the new plantings.

Beyond that, see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Thursday ... (y)

50.2 this morning more fine work mpham

Yesterday bad day wife ran off someone called police for walking on road fun evening not.

High in 70s today still dry did I say that before.

Prayers for all our Country
Prayers sent.
Good morning, the low is 38 and going to a high of 72°F. Wind N 2 mph. Sunny!
I am afraid this may be summers' last hurrah. We may be in for an early winter. Hope not, I am far from ready.

A 475 C 15 Cat engine with straight pipes and a Jake brake sounds like a machine gun when you drop a full gear to slow down. The bigger diameter of the pipes and deeper the sound (within reason).
8" pipes sound great, but I prefer 6" myself.
Most of the communities down here have outlawed Jake Brakes.

Wow there is so much going on here, and so fun to read!

Great pix Drew, keep them coming! Scott congrats on new pup! They are so fun and so much work!

Kyle, lots fires in CA but this one is near our residence in NV. Can't imagine losing our home we built only 4-5 years ago. Yesterday morning was much calmer, this morning I can see flames on the (distant) ridgeline. I could see an orange glow a few nights ago, but this is the first time I've seen it in the morning. I guess there is no such thing as "distant" if you can see flames.

Today is a "red flag warning." Last time that happened the fire really blew up. Tomorrow's forecast is for even stronger winds. We are packed and ready to go and I hope that doesn't happen. Not much I can do but wait.
I'm behind the times, but hoping for best outcome.

Mandatory meeting, or mandatory trip?

Mandatory meeting , they want us there. He wants to go. So go we will.
Not a Mandatory trip , that would not work too well for many.
Count me in as "not a fan" of senior trips. I've heard stories that would make one cringe. Not to mention stuff that happens at Mexican resorts and such. Who ever came up with that idea anyway?
I believe a good trip with family to celebrate a grad would be better.

tomorrow will be an interesting drive through the Salt Lake and past the Bonneville flats. Nothing but salt out there, looks like nothing lives
breathing in this salty air must be plain wonderful on machinery

I have a spare engine air filter I think RNG and I can add to my growing list.
I'll have to work him late to get all this done... ;)

I did replace the a/c intake air filter, in the living room ceiling,
which oem is multilayer thin foam.
This is a charcoal impregnated filter, Merv 8, and made in US by RV Air.
my software is telling me air quality alert tomorrow.
Time to up my game. Though until I get to CA I won't worry about smoke very much. Which thankfully, at the moment, is primarily in Southern Calif.

sure hope Plowhog is doing ok.

took another long walk, trying to get some exercise. Even though 68 out had to turn a/c on for a little while because bright sun heats this box right up. But from now on, windows open for awhile, until it goes down to 33 tonight.

Folks next to me very nice, couple from Rhode Island, we both boated, and now rv, and they are working their way home from Glacier National Park way North of here. Where it is supposed to snow this weekend.
Would be strange if it snows on me in Truckee
The rest of CA that I'm going to, at least up North, is 70's during day and 50's at night. Perfect.

I asked my BIL about the quake, nope not near us, any landslides today...
my sister sent me this pic from her apartment in a high rise in SF.
They are so secluded where they live they both enjoy coming to the city a lot. And those are some cool ship pics she sent me

I think one of those is the harbor tour boat
actually I hope to get out on it and see that whole area from the water
sure beats dodging the homeless...
Believe it shows the Ferry building for ferry service to Tiburon and other Marin county locations as well as tour boats
Used the Tiburon ferry to commute to the office a few streets from the Ferry building.
Very relaxing way to commute. On the return trip a lot of people frequented the bar.

Good (Friday) morning. Overnight Low of 6.4C and it's presently 10.7C [heading to 14C], overcast & calm. There was 0.5mm in the gauge @ 0900.

Yesterday's Launceston trip went well. It was my first time at the Ophthalmologist's new facility. My only concern was 'where do I park?' so I'm glad that I factored in an extra half hour to my travel time.

Stopped at a couple of stores after my appointment so that my 'Big Smoke' trip was more 'worth it'. Home by 1710.

Today will be attending the plumber's toilet block repair [this arvo] + checking the water meter's reading again.

That's about it, take care all.

success with the first batch of flatbread.
only two ingredients red lentils and water,

PT went well today. apparently many of my surgeon's patients are pain free. Amazing.
6 weeks after surgery is the magic number when restrictions are lifted. now one of the restrictions is cannot get in the pool (for another 4 weeks from today).
