I really love my ls 226he have 48hr on it so far. But i have found that the oil pan is weeping oil. But have decided its not worth the down time for repair yet. Moved some dirt today and noticed oil on the floor. Got to looking and its coming from the weep hole in the bell housing. Took the plate off and the bottom of the hst pump is wet. Looked down in from the top of the bell housing with a flash light and mirror and couldnt find nothing obvious. Front input seal didnt appear to be leaking. And the top of the pump is dry. Not sure if there is a vent in there or not. Really hoping i didnt get a lemon, these leaks are a bit dishearting

Definitely get this covered under warranty.
Going to have to this winter. Problem is, the tractor will never be the same as factory once its been monkeyed with

It leaked from the factory, it would seem; it wasn't in an accident, it's a part that needs replacement or repair, which while frustrating isn't uncommon.

Even if you're waiting a while to get it fixed, check in with your dealer. Make them aware of your issue, maybe they'll send someone out to look at it.

Only 48 hours on it and already two oil leak concerns, one requiring a split? How long is the bumper to bumper warranty on that tractor?

I understand that. But its like buying a new truck and having to have the motor replaced. Its just never the same as factory. Always somthing missing or wires routed wrong

What other options do you have? You already have something that requires major work.
Wouldn't any problems caused by the warranty work become warranty issues as well?

What I would do as a first step right now is take all your information and your fears to your dealer and sit down to discuss them. And keep an accurate record of your conversation.

This isn't a classic car where original parts make the value increase, it's a working machine. If it ain't working right, it's value is $0.00. You'll be down a lot longer if you wipe out the tranny & need to wait for a slow boat from Korea to bring you another one later in the warranty. Assuming that they don't deny the claim based on "user negligence".

So i kinda shot myself in the foot. I bought the tractor from smiths because they gave me an awsome trade in on my t25 and the best price i could find on this ls. They are 8 hours away so taking it back for warranty wasnt reasonable. The closest dealer blew me off because i didnt buy it from them. Found a dealer 70miles away that was happy to help.... cool right? So i get there and the weeds are growing up around the lot modles, with a good amount of junky equipment laying around. Not the end of the world, got to talking with the owner and he was a super nice guy, asked where the shop was. He said right there, i look and its an old tabacco barn that i can see light through. Says he had been working out of it for 15years. I didnt get a chance to see if it had concrete for a floor or not. I hate to judge a book by the cover but man, not really what you want to drop your new tractor off to. Now that being said, ive known some old timers that had similar shop and they did awsome work. Ive also known people who have staye of the art shops who did terrible work.. so i guess we shall see
