You Know You Are Old When

There's an old joke about a little girl. Her mother says 'Honey don't let those boys make you climb that tree on your way home from school. They only want to look up your dress and see your underwear.' the little girl replied 'I know mom but I fooled em, I didn't wear any' :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

That reminds me some of my grade school classes having to go in after recess in the old two story school I went to. Some teachers in the later years that I went there took the kids up the old metal fire escape rather than take the time to go up the regular inside stairs. Lots of young boys would congregate under the fire escape and the girls (catholic school) would have to hold their dresses tight to their knees. At least the good girls did.

I guess you are old if you ever had to deal with putting ink inside a pen!!!

I have two questions, not sure where to post it but maybe someone remembers. When the Beverly Hillbillies first came out (1962 from what I looked up) the opening song "Ballad of Jed Clampett" sung by Flatt & Scruggs I remember it being "Then one day he was shooting for some c o o n" (raccoon), later changed to "food"! No where can I verify that!
The second was in the 1980s Joel Hodgson came out with "Mystery Science Theater 2000", later changed to MST3K. They say there was never a Mystery science theater 2000.
Anyone else remember those two things?

Just from looking on YT, Seasons 1 and 2 didn't have words on the intro, just the instrumental. The words in the intro song started in Season 3 and they say "food". That is the only way I ever remember hearing it.

I could have sworn that it was Mystery Science Theater 2000 back in the 80's too, but can't prove it.

Edit: IMDB doesn't mention anything about MST 2000, so I guess not.

Agree. I only recall “food” in the song.

Crude rhymes with food much better than coon. So, my guess it was always good.
