This one showed up on a trail cam 5 days ago. Not close to the house, so it will live for now.

That same camera regularly gets deer and raccoons. Hogs have show up a few times as well.

I will set up to get the hogs. They are a bigger problem for now.

I wish... I studied/researched coyote in graduate school and grew up in Florida with feral pigs being both an immediate issue (destruction of our yard), as well as a greater environmental issue. Currently live in GA and have a good number of friends who have to deal with feral pigs as part of large scale natural resource/land management. - I've never come across any research, evidence or verifiable anecdotal evidence of coyote predating on feral hogs.

Feral hogs can be very tough customers and under the right circumstance pretty aggressive when attacked. (ever see the gear that pig-dogs wear when running hogs?) On the other hand coyote tend to be very resourceful and diet-adaptive creatures. I tend to suspect a feral hog could give a coyote(s) a very very bad day and it would be less easier/risky for coyote to pursue alternate food sources.

If you're talking about domestic pigs.... I dunno... that would someone else's area of knowledge.

No I did mean hogs, yeah I figured they couldn't but never know maybe juveniles or what not. Thanks for your response.

...As a semi-related fun aside - growing up we'd generally shoot/chase off hogs that showed up in our yard... I partially learned how to drive by running mom's '80's Volvo station wagon across the yard at packs of feral hogs.

The one exception to that was mom's with piglets. They were mean and horribly aggressive and would literally try and stand down a car if they thought their off-spring was at all cornered. For them we'd call Mr. Shelton the hog farmer up the street and he'd come over with a shotgun and a pack of 7-10 dogs and run them down.
