Maybe 2 or 3. All for the same reason. They are trolls. Their posts are primarily made to incite others rather than add anything of value. I just got tired of wading past their posts to get to rational opinions.

At least some that love high post counts sometimes add valuable insights. My short listers tend to post a wiki article they don't understand or poke others for a reaction. No thanks.

I have never put anyone on ignore list here, but I confess, there are some days I’m just not in the mood for a couple of them.

Overall, I really appreciate the posters and their content here

For me it’s 2. It just makes the forums more enjoyable. When every post is an argument or copy and paste from google or wiki. Can’t fade it, so I ignore them.

The other one, anyone who has at least one person ignored probably has them on their ignore... Those are my own words, not cut and pasted from any liberal sources.

I have a bunch of users on my ignore list. Post about politics in a thread that's not about politics? Ignored. Say ignorant stuff about California? Ignored. Say something mean? Ignored. There's no reason I need to read any of that.

Sometimes I read posts from ignored users if the context seems to indicate they made a comment that's not in one of those categories. Sometimes I'm right, sometimes I'm wrong.

It'd be nice if there was a more nuanced way to curate what you read here. Ignore is a blunt instrument.

As Ronald Reagan said, the truth and facts are pesky things. Truths and Facts seem to negatively impact on the beliefs and way a lot of people think.

If you have more than 2 people on your ignore list you may have a knee jerk reaction to opposing opinion. I considered putting somebody on my ignore list but decided I just needed to unfollow a certain thread that I may have liked or not liked which was overflowing with dribble - And that worked just fine.

None for me. I can skip over easy enough. Not sure if I'm on any list, not that I know how to check, or that I care. I try my best to treat people with respect, deserved or not. Makes for a happier life...

A lot of people's version of forum etiquette boils down to:

- be nice
- tolerate everything
- don't judge anybody, ever

I don't know how that squares with giving the best advice, but sometimes people need to hear an unvarnished truth.

If you tolerate everything, then you don't stand up for what is right. But how you stand up is everything. Judgment is a difficult topic. Not all criticism is judgment. Criticizing someone in a civil manner with the intention to help is not judgment.
