Kubota Stalling

My tractor after 2-3 hours of cutting idols down as if someone turned the throttle down. It will run this way a while. and then return to full throttle. It repeats this action over and over. What would be the first and second thing check.

Possibly a fuel, or fuel delivery issue. The first thing I would do is to change the fuel filter(s). Check the filter for contamination with microbial and / or water. After that, confirm that the lift pump is working, and confirm adequate fuel flow from the tank out.

BX tractors have two small filters for fuel, one near the engine and one at the back of the tractor. It usually the one at the back that’s plugged up and you’ll want to take the deck off to change it.

My little BX2660 does that too, but usually after an hour or two of running. Now, it's constant. It is VERY hard for me to work underneath it to change that filter, thanks to my injuries. I've watched several YT videos where others have replaced the underneath filter with a larger, more practical one mounted outside the frame. It is also transparent where you can see the filter as it gunks up. Gotta get me one of them... It also has a drain and the filter itself is easily replaceable. About $80 AIUI.

This is a Racor setup I put on mine. You still have to get under the tractor to reroute the fuel lines and remove the old filter from the system.
