You Know You Are Old When

Apparently I'm the only one who still wants a paper receipt.
I love email receipts. No way I'm filing every paper receipt I receive, they usually go from my pocket to the garbage. But email is stored forever, and very easy to search, when needed.

My whole life and business are totally paperless. Way easier, cleaner, less clutter, and no time wasted filing piles of paper. If the digital apocalypse ever comes, it won't matter, as the credit card companies will go down before me.

Agreed, but I hate to have to type in my email mail address as it's long. I just take a picture of the receipt, email it to myself from my phone with the subject line starting with "Expense" and I just go to my email on the weekends when working on expenses.

First year with the new company, I filed the whole years expenses in January of the following year for a pretty penny. Will NEVER do that again as I never heard the end of it LOL

There are a few services out there (like TinyURL) that will provide a short email address, which automatically forwards to your regular email. Handy way of having something short to type, and also not sharing your real email address. I've never explored them, since I just manage my own domains, but I've heard others mention this.

Goo URL Shortener

Of course, you could just start a new email account for receipts only, and give it a very short user name.

Here's another one; I often stream radio stations when in my truck. One station wants you to give them permission to sell your personal information. If you say no, you are booted off the site.
I agree that it's annoying, but no different than having to agree to terms of use to sign up for a website, account at some merchant, etc.
Around here and further south, women are addressed as "ma'am" and you better not forget it-- or your manners. And generally, ladies are ladies.
If I am asked a question by an unknown woman, I would answer "no, ma'am" or "yes, ma'am".
Most women I know rather strongly dislike being referred to as ma'am. They say it makes them feel old.

I have several email accounts for different purposes, one is for retail (especially online shopping). Most of these places spam you, this way it's all in one account...I'll check it once a month or so in case there's something important. I'd imagine most of the short usernames have already been taken, but it's usually business names that tend to run long, for example jsmith@southshoreindustrial.com or something like that.

Since I run my own domains, I just make up email addresses with my initials and date, to use for crap where I know spam is likely to follow, and have them forward to my real email address. When the spam gets too voluminous, I close out that email address, bounce all incoming to it, and start a new one with a new date.

I think you could do the same with the Goo URL Shortener service I posted above, as long as they allow you to cancel the forwarder, at-will.

I have 3 dummy email accounts that I set up years ago with Yahoo. I started despising Yahoo for all the crap email. Then set up a Gmail account. Gmail has been great so far, my need to do another account with them.

For personal email, I use my complete name so you know I am who I say I am.

Work uses Microsoft 365, which to be honest, they don't give you any training on it, and I find it way to confusing.

My boss still gets upset with me for using my personal email for work, but when they switch the servers (from old Microsoft to the new 365), he always had to have me forward him emails because the older ones disappeared LOL

As much as I ***** about technology, reality is at dinner tonight, I was able to get a guy the information directly from my phone because I knew where to look.
