What happens if you don’t pay your electric bill? Or there’s a long term outage?

Not just you, but anyone else who thinks those outlets will always supply electricity.

I could decide not to pay my electric bill, or have my electric cut off for any number of reasons, but still jump in my ICEV and go gas up.

Same thing that would happen if I don't pay at the pump.

Its 2am. There is a loud knock at your door. Do you take the gun? I decided not to. It was police officers looking for someplace else with a warrant and someone I didn't know. They got the addresses all messed up. And were lost. But still as I came out to talk to them, guns were hands on and at the ready. I was and am still pissed off about that. If I had come out with a gun, things could have gone a different way, a very bad way. A mistaken way. I hate the idea of having a gated drive way. But this would have required them to call me first to get past the gate. And its then I could have told them they had the wrong address.

Yeah, ummmm but there’s a key difference in that you have many “pumps” to choose from, but just one electric source coming into your house.
And that one source can be cut of with the flick of a computer key. And it can be cut off for an ever-increasing number of reasons.
The likelihood of every gas station in your town refusing to sell you gas is about a whopping .000000000000001%.

The point I’m trying to make is that if you think you are getting your fuel source “from your house”, you are deeply mistaken.

You are getting your fuel source from your electric supplier. And they can shut you off at any time for any reason they feel justified. Maybe they don’t like your views you post on social media? Don’t laugh, banks are already doing it. And they’re in charge of your money.
