2 post or 4 post vehicle lift ideas

I’ve considered both but have settled on a 4 post because of the flexibility to use it for storage as well as working on my fleet. With an air/hydro jack i can lift a vehicle off the tires to do tire/wheel/brake/suspension work. Seemed like the best compromise for my needs

I have 3 Bendpak 4 post lifts. Two 9K and one 14K. I chose 4 post models since they have wheel kits which allow them to be moved around in the shop. They can even be moved with loads on them.

As others have said, 4 posts are also great for storage

All the shops I worked in or owned no one wanted to use the 4 posts except for doing alignments and oil changes. Everything else 2post.

They use 4 post lifts for alignment work. If you had a 2 post I don’t see why you would ever want a 4 post in the way besides doing alignment.

A 4 post is good for oil changes, storing cars, etc ..

They're good for lots of things, and much quicker to use.

If 2-posts were the ultimate lift I wouldn't have added a 4-post later, and use it far more often.

Well, I wouldn't want to store a car on a 2-post, even if it's old enough to have stout frame.
