Two Post 12k pound vehicle lift

I have a 10K Forward lift Made by Rotary. I wish I had a 4 post instead.
Lifting many different vehicles require you to position each vehicle differently.
Always having to adjust to get the vehicle just right for the lift arms to go to the right spot. It's also a tight squeeze to get in and out of the vehicle due to the doors hitting the post.
I just believe a 4 post would be much easier. You can buy jacks to go under the front and rear to get all 4 wheels off the the lift
Jacks for front and rear? Have not seen this

It's funny. Guys with 2 post want 4 and 4 post want 2! :)
I have a 10k 2 post and I really like it. The one thing I might have done different would have been to give my self a little more clearance at the wall. I only have 18-24" from the post to the wall. Otherwise no complaints

I have a 12K two poster. I ended up moving it to a better location so my advice would be to pour a good floor and don't limit your options. I need (read want) to put an air line drop and mount a retractable air hose reel and powered extension cord reel at the lift. I should mount a shop light on a swing arm as well.

Concrete Floors get slippery with oil and water is my biggest complaint. And dragging an air hose from my wall to get around the vehicle.

You're going to love it.

I bought one two years ago, not as nice as yours, but keeps me from working from the floor. I bought a Mid rise and I can now do everything I do on a car from a rolling chair or standing.

I do oil changes, tire rotation, radiator replacement, couple radiator drain and flush, brakes (about to do my 3rd complete brake job) and anything else I don't want to pull a jack out for.

Come to think of it, I haven't used a Jack since I've bought it.

If you add up all of the work I've done and numerous oil changes. It's probably already paid for itself.

Just look up Bridge Jacks for 4-Post lifts (or Rolling Bridge Jacks) almost all the companies offer them. Not cheap but IMHO make a 4-post the best of both worlds... I've used both...

My brother has a 2-post & a 4-Post with bridge jacks... He does 90% of his work with the 4-post & uses the 2-post for projects that need to stay on the lift for awhile...

Something like these:

Pouring the concrete in my shop today... I have a footer prepared for a 2 post 12k pound capacity vehicle lift.

This is the lift I have coming.

Those of you with lifts, what do you have? Would you do anything different?
Nice lift! I'm sure it will serve you well.

I considered a 2 post for the barn but decided on a 4 post instead so it could be used for overhead storage when not in use.

I now have two 9000# and one 14000# 4 post lifts. When not being used for maintenance, all are used for overhead implement storage. Saved the expense of putting up another building.

I also like the 4 post lifts because they have wheel kits, which lets me move them around. The floor strength issue is lessened because the load is placed on 4 posts instead of 2.

For wheel & axle work, I use a rolling jack.

The only down side to a 4 post is the ramps sometimes get in the way doing some work operations. I guess the ideal setup would be to have both types.

I had my floor in my shop broom finished for this reason. You can get a concrete wheel for a 4.5'' grinder to rough up your floor somewhat to prevent it from being so slick when wet

The rolling jacks for the 4 post lifts are very nice. But I couldn't justify that cost when a good channel iron and some heavy angle makes a nice tray that a bottle jack fits nicely to lift from and a jackstand will sit in.
