20 going to 47.

LS, neat plaques with some good sentiment.

Phil, nice clean up.

RS, looks like you've been busy as usual.

BEF, hope you feel better. I moved to the Lazy-boy about midnight because my wife was making a lot of breathing noises...still pretty sick.

I made another town run for her yesterday to hit Walmart and to take some things to Goodwill that I cleared out of the closet during that rainy day...freed up about 3 feet of hanger space for her to use if she wants. I'm in a "reduction phase."

At least this shopping trip took me past the park, and I had a nice long hike. The river was roaring from all the rain. I'll post a pic, but you can't see it well. I went off trail for a ways and found where someone had set up a backpacking tent (illegal) on the bluff overlooking the class IV-V rapids, so I didn't go over there to get a photo.

Good morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

16.5F going to get in then40s, sunny day.

Successful day running around, got the hairscut in too! And the winds died down enough to finally get sauna time in — Feels Good, Man! Dinner was a big frittata made of eggs, sausage, mushrooms, garlic, onions, mozzarella and ricotta. big enough to freeze portions for several more meals! I guess it was good — Mrs just asked if i would heat her up a piece for breakfast!!!

main event for today is final follow-up with periodontist. So trip to big city and some ancillary shopping at stores we don’t have here.

Harry Houdini Hound is celebrating his first birthday today!

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe productive blessed day!

Good Morning Guys ,
Ct, 24 to start going to 42 maybe ! 😉 Sunny this morning, so that’s a plus !

On the agenda today is my grandson’s nursery school recital ! That should be a hoot, and that’s this morning ! Last night was our FD Christmas Party ! Nice time talking with some old friends !

BEF, hope your feeling better soon Dennis !
. Got to almost done and made the inside bigger than the outside!

Phil, just wondering if a set of outside calipers would prevent having that happening again ? Of course you would have to work from the outside going to the center ! Thinking that you could drill into the bowl with a flat bottomed drill that was preset a certain distance from your face plate ! Just thinking out loud here ! I’m sure you have it figured out !

Hope all have a blessed and safe day ! 🙏

Morning all, 28 going to 45, might get some sun.
Had to drop son off a few towns over. The Delaware is still overflowing the banks and in many places covering the road.
Was seeing sheds and docks floating in the snags.
Have not had this bad of a flood in years.
As usual my FILs old house was high and dry, but roads on both sides flooded.

Saw a light post about 20 feet out in the river, still anchored down. Must have been by a dock. Only a few feet of the top showing on about a 7 foot tall post.

Spent some time yesterday cleaning up debris and picking up Christmas decorations.

Tips for garbage men out, mailman and landscaper done. All do a bit more than required and deserve a little extra.

Feel better BEF ! Hope the BIL recovers soon.

Give my best to the Mrs. Wngsprd for a fast recovery

Hopefully the river will start lowering, most of the houses in that area are raised from the last floods, this one was pretty bad from the upriver rains and the soaked ground.

Driving along most of the way with the river up to the edge of the road, except where it was the road, lots of crews trying to stem the flow into town.

Be well,

This is normally dry land about 40 feet or so out past the trees.

decided I have been good enough and decided on a nice christmas present for myself, since everyone else
is now taken care of.
bought myself a stereo upgrade for my computer system. Was so pleased with improvement by adding Klipsch powered 5's, want to
expand that for a better DAC and ability to plug in a turntable someday.

So I ordered a PS Audio Sprout amplifier, little baby thing that looks really easy to use, and has a good DAC in it, plus KEF 150 speakers in white to mount
on this room's wall. Don't know if I'll run the Klipsch speakers with the KEF's, figured I might, want to try it out each way. No matter what, have Klipsch sub on floor.
Plus a Pangea furniture rack, small one, to fit in beside my office desk. That will also force me to neaten up the rat's nest of wires currently connecting everything.
Ordered the KEF speakers from Crutchfield, same price as Amazon, but surprisingly could get a PS Audio product on Amazon. Most of their stuff is very high end
and unaffordable. For the cork sniffers as Popgadget would say. But they make a very very good small integrated amp that is actually a bargain.
Last part is a set of upgraded optic cables to connect the PC, getting rid of current USB which is not optimum cable type.

Over the past year there has been a shortage of used cars. I test drove a 2017 Ford Transit with 40K+ miles on it (out of warranty) that the dealership wanted 5K over the original MSRP. The used Toyota Prius a few years old was more than a new one, but you couldn't find a new one on any dealer's lot. The situation is better now that some of the supply chain problems are getting worked out, but car prices are still at stratospheric levels. It also doesn't help that interest rates on car loans have doubled.

The CarEdge site lets you look up how many days a given vehicle has been on the dealer's lot. The van I purchased had been sitting for three months, probably because it had so many options on it. Most I wanted, one or two I'd have really liked to have but they weren't on it. I got enough of a discount below MSRP so at least I wasn't paying for the couple of options I really didn't want that were on there anyway. I paid cash; the dealer wanted a couple of points over what I could get at a local credit union.

I was also willing to travel, even out of state, for the right deal. That greatly expanded the number of vehicles I could consider. And again, the CarEdge website's search tools made finding the needle in a haystack pretty easy.
I bought a Transit 250 van in 2016 with 5 cyl diesel. It has been a great van! I got the mid height ( nearly 6ft tall inside) and extended length. Not sorry we got it. That was the last new vehicle I bought myself. Since then I bought a few used ones, mostly for fun. I did buy myself a used diesel beetle last year for a run around car. Great mileage for errands and such.

Scootr, I loved my diesel Golf, just fine to drive.
my first experience with DCT, not such a smooth device at low speed but boy could
it kick off the shifts under power. That little diesel was wonderful, dealer was awful.

headed downtown with drone to see if I can get any pics of Delaware River flooding/up high.
nice sunny day, should be good for this.

Great pictures. Our daughter loves Iceland and she has visited twice as well. Interesting history and association with Denmark as well. Old sagas makes for interesting read
Have read mind-blowing story about their punishment system.

Normally bad behaving guys are locked in. But not there
For them next to capital punishment was ... exile. Only really tough guys could survive year in the wild.

Good morning! Low of 27°, heading to 45°. A30-40% chance of a few sprinkles later. No snow predicted for today... that's coming this weekend. The "chances" are up at 90% for Saturday. Amounts are still undecided.

Dennis, hope you get over the crud quickly, prayers sent for your BIL.....a trifecta! That can't be good.

Wng, hope the wifey gets better soon. Nice pic through the trees.

Bruce, sorry no bike ride. Hope you find the paperwork today.

Don, sorry about the knee pain.... I can definitely sympathize.

Drew, sounds like (literally) a great upgrade to the sound system. Enjoy!

RNG, have a safe trip back down south. Make sure you leave a window or door open so we get the precipitation this weekend......

I went out and cut the last plaque last evening. I'll get it sanded and stained today. Wifey is still making holiday treats, so clean up committee duties intermittently.

Everyone have a great day!

Buckeye, that's a lot of risk factors for BIL, hope good antibiotics clears him up

I've seen quite a number of older folks wearing masks in supermarket.
You just don't want to be 85 with COPD and get SVR. (VCR? SVC? )

took my drone pics, will look at later, nippy down by the River, and then stopped at orchard for more apples.
now back downtown to nicer supermarket to try to find something to bake that is healthy
have old friends coming for tea, I'll likely cheat and find something in the bakery.
but one is super healthy and let's say a glazed donut is not going to be on the menu

   / Good morning!!!! #182,618
and before I left I see an email from UPS saying my order from O&H Danish Bakery is coming tomorrow.
Since I didn't order it, looks like someone else did, so guess I'll have backup. Gift from someone.

reminds me of a funny memory.
Guy who I liked very much used to own my farm in NC, older guy, not well, we bonded wonderfully,
and he had an uncle or some relative that clearly did not know he had died.
So for five straight years I got some Danish pastry ring and drove it over to another relative who lived nearby.
For three years, I wrote notes on the Danish to please get the address changed.
On the fifth year I said that was enough.
I guess it was time to become a Scrooge.
So my note said it was the last time I was doing it.

Sixth time I ate the danish myself.

Very rich, heart attack food.\
No danish for seventh Christmas.

maybe it's coming back to haunt me?....

Respiratory Syncytial Virus

Apparently antibiotics don't have much effect on viruses.

Our local post office has a sign on the door recommending masks inside the facility. I don't see many masks when I am out and about.

65°F and .89 inches rain. 137.14 ytd

Forecast continues. This rain isn’t constant. It may pour really hard a couple minutes, followed by a brief period of almost sun or an extended period of heavy mist. Not consistent nor predictable.

Not much progress on the pump exchange. A few preliminary plans and measurements but no actual work due to weather interruptions and visiting with our departing friends. Oh well.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
