Cx2510h or ck2620h?
Hello everyone, I am new here and considering buying kioti cx2510 or ck2620, leaning toward the cx.
What is the shortest trailer I can use for the cx2510 with loader? Used mostly for trips to the dealer.
Thanks.

Well if you’re researching said tractors you should be able to determine what their dimensions/weights are, right? However, you should consider what type of attachments you might add to the tractor in the future. No sense having a trailer just for the tractor, but then you could never bring along a piece of equipment at the same time. I’m sure that would happen more often than you think…

Ok, for the CX2510, your wheelbase is about 60", and the length from the front axle to the end of the bucket is about 60", for a total of 10 feet.

Add say 2 or 3 feet behind the rear axle, and you get a 12 to 14 foot trailer minimum.

2308 lbs for the tractor + 605 lbs for the bucket = about 3000 lbs. So, the trailer needs some strength, but nothing insane.

If you go with a super short trailer, you may struggle with getting the weight distribution right, and you will have to play around with loading it forward vs backwards.

Really though….who buys a trailer just to be able to get the tractor to the dealer? Nobody buys a tow truck to be ready to tow the family chariot to the shop!! Way way way cheaper to pay someone to haul the tractor, private service or even the dealer, if not able to get service right at home.
Who doesn’t want a trailer to haul stuff. I get that, but there’s no rush in this case. It’s important to understand that a trailer needs to match the load, a truck needs to match the loaded trailer and the operator needs to know how to tie down the load and drive it all safely. Not a purchase to take lightly…

How often do people typically take their tractors to the dealer? My tractor just doesn't go to the dealer... ever.

Looking at the Kioti, I think it may be OK in length for the U-Haul car trailer, but slightly too narrow for the two tread design.

Our local equipment rental does also rent utility trailers that would probably work. And renting a trailer once every couple of years might be cheaper than licensing a trailer.

As @Robin Veerman mentioned, towing a trailer does take a little practice. Backing up? Parking? Not running over stuff, etc. Nothing insurmountable, but not necessarily comfortable for once every few years use.

I took my nephew to practice at a shopping center parking lot. I told him to back the trailer around a corner and next to an island. We ended up about 30 feet away, and he asked me how close does it have to be in the real world??? An awful lot closer than that. Each situation is different, but parking a trailer may need to be within a couple of inches. And, yes, corners are part of life.

Now, that said, a good utility trailer can be very handy for hauling a lot of stuff, not just a tractor. Trips to the local building supply? Hauling Hay? Buying more tractor implements? Hauling cars? Bringing home that next project? Hauling garbage to the dump?

The larger dump trailers may even fit your tractor, and can be very popular.

Pick out a trailer that will be flexible for the type of projects you are interested in.

Plenty of trailer experience with towing a pontoon boat, so I am good on that count. The trailer would be multi-use and I can get a one-time registration in my state. I just don't want to buy an 18 or 20 foot trailer if I can use a 16 or 14.

Thanks for all the replies.

Regarding the two machines your looking at, what has you leaning one way or another? What are your intended uses? Where are you from, what terrain will you be operating on?

I haul my 2610 around on a 16', 14,000# GVW ( more that required because I haul logs on it as well) with plenty of room I think for just the tractor with loader I could get away with 14'.

I have 2 acres, split by a runoff ditch, with lots of trees and brush. I want to put a culvert with a drive over, plus clear the brush and put in a more deer proof garden, (they bed down that side of the yard at night). There is always something to do that I wish I had a tractor for. Terrain is not flat...

The cx2510hst fits the bill, but for a few thousand more I could get the larger frame and loader lift capacity of the ck2620hst. They also have the same engine. Kioti website has the wrong cu. in. Listed for the cx2510, both have the same cc's of 1647 or 1.6L.

Engines Data from Kioti
CK2620
Engine Model 3A165LWM-U
Displacement 100.5 cu. in. (1,647 cc)

Cx2510
Engine Model 3A165LWH-U2
Displacement. 87 cu. in (1,647 cc)

I was leaning toward the 16, thanks for the input!
