Good Morning Guys,
45 going to 68 ! Sunny morning with clouds increasing in the afternoon!

Don, best of luck with your recoup !
I see you didn’t waste any time to put your leg in the motion machine!

Kilroy, very cool old trunk, as Drew stated, if it could only talk !

Frits, happy anniversary to you and your wife! Very cool pictures you have been posting, I’m guessing I will probably never get a chance to get there !

MikeZ, quite a bumper crop you have there ! Do you hay all your open pasture land or do the local farmers do it ?

I can’t remember what the gas prices were, but I do remember working part time at a local gas station when everyone was waiting in line for gas, I always had plenty !!

Have a guy coming out to the house this morning to undercoat my 2017 F150 ! He put new tires on the truck last year in the DW ! He does this business on the side, he is a payed FF in Waterbury,Ct. There is very little rust on the frame, so trying to prevent it getting any worse ! Truck only has 62,000 miles , so only putting on about 9K per year, and most of that are high way miles going back and forth to Vt !

Hope all have a blessed and safe day ! 🙏

smart to undercoat your truck Scott.
while I was under rv yesterday I sprayed anything useful with spray lube with teflon or something in it.
Sticks a little, not like undercoating.
luckily folks rarely drive rvs's in the snow/salty roads so underneath of mine is still almost like new.
so I'll keep spraying away. I buy it in bulk and fill a sprayer so easy to do.

Good morning! 73˚F and staying in the 70s today with cloudy skies and chance of rain.

Very little sleep last night as block and spinal wore off and started taking pain pills too late. Last time the block did not wear off till the next day and I did not sleep one wink. That's why I had to stay the night two years ago - it is hard to pass the walking test with no feeling below the waist. With the complete wearing off of the spinal and block my p is back to normal don't have to wait 2-5 minutes.

Off to the knee flex machine in the other bedroom. Home heath will be here this afternoon to evaluate me. Fist goal will try to get from the walker to the 3 wheel rollator mainly because it has a tray and basket to carry things. It is a good one.

Up at the crack of 9.
I have lots of walnuts. Had to raise deck last time I mowed. I don’t harvest any. I even have a nut cracker for them. Saw a bunch on AT yesterday with husk off.
Couple new large RVs across from me. One has about a 2 gallon tank next to the water spigot, which I guess is a filter of some kind. I bring a case of bottled water to drink.
This morning I’ll do sausage and pancakes on the griddle. Tonight we are going to a restaurant we like in the area.

.....

No more haying, either leasing or doing it ourselves.

So it's limited pasture cuts, no venturing into the woods except for trail and firewood maintenance and about two days of cutting grasses around the structures and property lines.

I have about 12 big walnut trees and I HATE them. Very productive. I could walk across areas of the yard without hitting the ground. They also produce a type of toxin, some/many plants can't tolerate. I'm off now, to resume using my shop vac to suck 'em all up, dump into the tractor loader bucket and dump onto the burn pile. and repeat about 15 times... 5 hours yesterday, hopefully finish before noon. Rain, winterish weather coming later tonight.

Good Morning!!!! 60F @ 7:45AM. Light rain early...then remaining cloudy with showers in the afternoon. High 61F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 80%.
this is for Scootr
lot of nature lovers and photographers will probably convene here soon, flowers in the desert.

There are signs in the parking lot at Badwater that mark the high water mark, some 40' above the road. That took a lot more rain than Hilary delivered. I've seen the southern entrance to DV carpeted with yellow and pink flowers that grew from exceptional spring rains, and have been rained out of there more than once on President's Day weekend. Not a fun place to be in the wet, with all the sticky clay mud everywhere...

Remembered yesterday that the parts to fix the gate were delivered Monday, so that's where I started yesterday. Replacing the charge controller was easy, just plug'n'play. The radio was another story, as several of the wires had been disconnected trying to diagnose the problem, and I had to read all the instructions again to figure out what went where. Then the keypad and key fob remote had to be programmed to talk to each other with a series of button pushes and LED flashes that took multiple attempts. But now things seem back to normal, but I can only guess how long it'll last this time. Not very pleased with US Automatic equipment, but at least their tech support is good. And the replacement parts were free, except for the postage it took to get the bad parts back to them.

Then I took a stab at tracing some wires on the van and didn't get very far. Gonna take some time with the schematics to figure what wire does what. Then likely some more time crawling under the van chasing each one down. I did give the engine bay a badly needed bath with soap and water after taping over the intake ports in the heads. And that was it for the day.

Just now one of the smoke detectors started chirping, so I guess I'll start the day by replacing some batteries.

Happy Hump Day folks...

Meeting of the Big Island Retired Military Association at the National Guard facility for a special briefing.
Need to visit brewery for refill.
Meeting friends in town at their condo for afternoon repast.

Good morning.
42 with a high of 66 under clear skies today.

Yesterday found me in the shop all day. I decided to retire the rotary phase converter used to power my table saw, it was replaced with a 4kw VFD. It seems to work well, programming was straightforward, even with the pigeon English manual. Not sure if I’ll bother with a remote switch or not, for now I’m using the controls on the VFD.
