good morning all
weather is warming a little, high in 70's today

off this morning to Lederach to my childhood friend's home there, promised him I'd take a pic of his house
with my drone. I think he wants to make a Christmas card out of the pic.
If we ever get snow here again....I promised to drive up there and take a pic before any tracks were made in the driveway.

as always I wave to Popgadgets bright yellow mailbox as I go by

this afternoon I am going to install, I hope, a water filtration system in rv. Mini version of what I have at home with three filters.
just no room for an RO filter, which would be best. Package is leaning up against side of house....amazon email as of almost 8pm last night.
surprised they deliver so late, though I bet with holidays coming, that will be the norm.
I use a generic Camco inline water filter on the main supply line, which means I don't mind taking a shower in the allegedly potable water and brushing my teeth
in it. But to drink, everyone says never drink the water from your rv tank. Most won't drink campground water.
since I plan on being on the road for longer periods, time to up my water game.

going to hog up a lot of precious room under the sink in rv. Need to rearrange where coffee pot lives.
also means more to winterize; I'll just unscrew the cartridges and take them inside.
At least there will be a little more room here to work. Good time to clean out the compartment, disinfect it, and then put it all back in.
Once stuff is in there, never gets cleaned.

Afternoons are getting warm, going to hit 80 on Saturday. Am hoping I get one more batch of sweet peppers.

Don, we are all rooting for a fast recovery for you. Never knew they had an automatic knee bending machine.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

32.0F going to low 70e,sunny forecast. Was only supposed to go to low 40a, so no fire in stove, HVAC cycling since 3AM…

after Chiro visit, had some admin tasks in town, post office etc. stopped at one of the antiques after having lunch and found a vintage Wheary travel trunk in excellent shape with the wooden hangers — it will be installed in the cabin shed once it gets a good airing and cleaning for regular use as clothing closet.

It has an interesting interlock system with the drawers: the top small drawer has two steel channels mounted at the sides which engage two rollers mounted on the upper ends of two vertical steel arms, which have hooks that engage metal slotted brackets mounted on the sides of the other drawers. When the top drawer is closed, the arms are raised and the hooks prevent the other drawers from opening. When the drawer is opened two inches, the arms drop and the other drawers and move.

It even has all the wooden hangars! The rods for the hangars extend out about 8 inches.

Walked the dog up the mountain, no work done, although I harvested some Choi and chards, as well as seeds for next year.

Today is weigh-in day again plus more admin running around. I need more extension cords to finish the outside Halloween decorating… Hopefully the firewood gets unloaded today since it did not happen yesterday.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

it really is a bumper crop.
Apples are a bumper crop this year, at least around here.

those nuts are good for you. But so much trouble to shell unless you have a machine.
Particularly black walnuts. One seriously hard shell.
I love walnuts though and try to bake with them

Kilroy, very cool travel trunk.
I can only imagine what they would charge you on a plane to check that today, full of stuff.
probably hundreds of dollars.

That trunk has gone places. If only it could talk...
African safari? And who was RBW?...

I am guessing RBW was the trunk’s first owner. And the oval sticker was from some NYC hotel, too little remains to easily identify which one…

Good morning.
42 with a high of 66 under clear skies today.

Yesterday found me in the shop all day. I decided to retire the rotary phase converter used to power my table saw, it was replaced with a 4kw VFD. It seems to work well, programming was straightforward, even with the pigeon English manual. Not sure if I’ll bother with a remote switch or not, for now I’m using the controls on the VFD.

It was Zoe’s first birthday, we sang happy birthday to her and gave her a piece of cake.

Her breeder said that one of her brothers was looking for a new home due to his master’s health. We actually considered it, but then came to our senses…
