Also wondered how the big trucks and other powered equipment is maintained… one yard for the air National Guard seems almost abandoned but has dozens of trucks for years out in the weather.

If it's done right they're stored drained of fluids and without batteries; they should be operable in short order.

You are not joking on status symbol. We get looked down or that kind of look alot because of our 2008 f350 by owners of new SD or HD owners.

This is where I am at. I can write a check for most used equipment, but new? I’m priced out of the market.

Back on subject...

Getting a bit more tense up here in SE Michigan as the UAW rank and file are coming to the realization that this strike is gonna be a long one and there is no way they can survive in 500 dollars a week income and if it goes a long time, the UAW strike fund will be depleted and then they will get nothing. I read that the fund might last past Haloween, depending on how many members are drawing on it and at least up here in Michigan, workers that voluntary walk off their job are not entitled to unemployment compensation either.

Fords has made their best offer but Fain says it's 'not good enough'. Maybe it's time to put the company in receivership, disavow the union and emerge as a non union company. Seems to me to be the end game. (and I commented on that at the beginning of the thread)

All the automakers have plenty of new vehicles on hand anyway and with the crazy price of new vehicles today, it's not like they are flying of the dealers lots anyway because they aren't.

Far as Kentucky being a RTW state, All RTW does is allow you to work in a union shop without having to join the union, however, the union don't have to cover you under it's contract. Nothing more, nothing less.
