Hello I recently purchased a mk martin meteor 68 pull behind snowblower. I received the blower and went to hook it up on the tractor and it wouldn’t fit on my quick hitch, I currently use a off brand and thought maybe it was that quick hitch, so I pulled another one off a little 1025r that I have and it didn’t fit either? So I looked on the website and mk Martin says the blower is quick hitch compatible is anyone else find this problem? I don’t want to make to big of a stink about it because I got a pretty good deal on the blower. It was ordered during Covid and the guy never came and picked it up, so it sat on the lot for a couple years, because these kinds of blowers are not real popular in my area. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

is the width wrong? I have a older version that's a rear push and it's a cat 2. so I have to go direct hookup. and had to shorten the drive shaft.

15+ years ago when my tractor was my only equipment, I got a quick hitch to try and make swapping out the 3 pt implements easier and quicker (finish mower, brush hog, blade, tiller, snowblower).

My experience with it proved it was neither.

I ended up just leaving the quick hitch at the side of the field, where it still sits to this day.

I just became better/more experienced at hooking up the 3 pt equipment.

That was all just my personal experience, of course. Obviously other people use them, so they presumably provide a benefit.

I acquired other equipment over the years (zero turn, skidsteer with snowblower), and sold off some land, so the tractor doesn’t get used much anymore. It’s mainly a backup if the other stuff dies on me.

I have a speeco QH and it only hooks up to 1/3 of my attachments as long as I use the floating top link. If I use the top link hook I can only connect to one attachment.

The speeco will also make contact with some PTO shafts.

IMHO there is no 3PH "standard" which is a PITA.

Be careful about your PTO shaft as you may end up
having to measure twice or three times and then cut it
since the quick hitch does not work.

That's my experience too, I tried the HB quick hitch using the cat2-->cat1 bushings. It was all money wasted IMHO, now I'm faster without it. I think Pats Quick hitch is the more practical solution if one desires a quicker hook up time?

Got the better idea here: :D

bare hooks unlatched.jpg

quick and easy, back in lift to capture the lower pins, let the top link out drop into place lift and go.

Thank you LouNY. That is good idea
Lets make it better.
I made two rod links to the cabin from the lower hooks and a rope from the top link to the cabin.

The rope here very slippy.
Next rope car tow rope is much better with a spring inside keeping it upright.

Find the chain and other spring keeping the top link lightweight to use.
These ideas are suitable for small and big tractors and all cat 3-points and non standard attachments
Ask your tractor maker to give you EURO HOOKS
Here is one video of my works

I gave up on the quick hitch. Seemed like I fought to put it on for one attachment, then had to take it off because the next attachment wasn't compatible. Plus my MK Martin snow blower that was supposed to fit, didn't.

I have five implements that go on my 3-point. I looked into a popular brand of quick hitch. Seems like every one of my implements would require some degree of modification to work on the QH. OR the QH itself would need mods. All in all - the QH would have been a mistake in my case. And what do you do when trying to sell an implement that has be modified.

I have found little "tricks" that have made implement hook up easier and safer. I'll just go this way.

Both my HF quick hitches work great, have 5 different impliments and all 5 fit them perfectly. I bought two hitches just in case one broke but both have been just fine after 5yrs of service and get used lots.

I have the Euro style hooks on my Branson and the regular extendable links on my NH 8160. I have tried the quick hitches and they didn't same my any time and then the aggravation of squeezing in between the so called quick hitch and my implement for the pto shaft or the hydraulics. It didn't safe me anything and then the agravation of towed implements and getting in and around the hitch for pto shafts, no thanks I have no use for the quick hitches I do like my Euro hooks and may weld a set on the NH.

I switched to Pat's quick hitch after I got my snowblower because the regular quick hitch with the top bar connector interfered with the angle of the PTO shaft.
