Good morning!!!!

Woke up to a whole bunch of drama this morning. Had texts and emails from the airline.

They canceled my flight out this morning. They rescheduled me for a later flight into Atlanta. Then I got to look forward to an 11hr layover not landing in Little Rock till after midnight

Instead of canceling the driver I decided to go ahead and go to the airport to see if I could get better flights home.

Thankfully the driver showed up about 15 minutes early.

So.... when I got to the airport this morning, they were able to get me a standby position on an earlier flight if I could get through security and to the gate in time.

Well..... I got hung up in security. Some of the swag I got in the presentation was setting off warnings for security, so I got a bag check....

By this point I'm chomping at the bit. After a 1/4 mile sprint to the gate, (probably scared some old ladies and resembled a charging bull) they called my name for the last available seat just as I got to the gate

I had just enough time to send off a text to my wife that I was able to make the earlier flight and that I would be home on time

I will say this..... I got my cardio in this morning
Sounds familiar. Spent nights on floor in obscure airports around the world for missed flights. Glad you made it. Always tried to avoid Atlanta airport. The worst airport to get around in at least at the time.

I had choice coming in a going out. Houston or Atlanta.

I've never had a flight delayed or canceled out of Atlanta.

I've had every flight delayed or canceled out of Houston.

The flight I was supposed to be on this morning out of Jacksonville FL suffered a catastrophic failure and hence the flight issue.

I was supposed to originally be on the flight I caught this morning. But for some reason I got bumped to the flight out an hour later a few weeks ago.

Good morning! Low of 47°, heading to a high of 73°. Temps warm up a bit over the weekend, to the upper 70's.
Only a 30% chance of a stray t-storm.....

More dismantling today, will attempt to get the deck removed.

Dftodd, nice fish! Nice that you had a good trip. Very good that you were able to sort out the flight.

Scott, hope the effects of Lee don't hinder your plans....

Fritz, nice job on the drainage swale! Yep.... that's a lot of bucketfuls.....

Well, better get to it.....
Everyone have a great day!

very happy they found this out before hand...

I've caught a carp and a barracuda. no fishing talent at all, impressed by that fish

headed out to pick last of tomatoes, garden looks awful, lovely day so may clean it out a bit.
stopped at apple orchard on way home from PT and bought a lot of apples to take South with me.
parking lot at orchard was full at 9:10am. The word is out, apples are in.

I haven't had much luck fishing either. Our luck yesterday was all due to the captain and his assistant. They set up the poles. Cast them out. And we took turns on which ever pole started going ballistic.

some of these are drool worthy.
That 58 Merc engine is marvelous, never saw one. That was a very big engine for 1958.
My 348 1958 Impala got 9mpg. I bet that Merc got 7

Dftodd, the worst part is my wife and I tried to eat the carp, not knowing what it was.
We both spit it out. Bait fish I was later told....we were such rookies.

Much preferred the smaller airports back in the day such as Hobby, Houston and Love field in Dallas.
Some airports had very good restaurants. Austin airport had an outlet for smoked brisket from the Salt Lick Smoke house. Always headed over to get that after landing.

65F and abundant sunshine @ 12:30, heading up to around 70F for the day's high.

Some more clean up in the garage done day before yesterday.

Also got one roll of lawn edging cut to 10' lengths to use as rings around trees and connectors inserted, also got the 2nd roll unwound so it could heat up in the sunshine and lose its memory.

Strained more glyphosate juice mixed, strained and sprayed about 1 1/2 gallons in various areas.

Refilled hopper, two tube and suet feeder yesterday, also scattered cracked corn for the ground feeders.

Refueled Cub Cadet.

Hauled debris from underside of mower deck and compostables up to the pile.

Got compost/woodlot mostly mowed.

Picked several buckets of tomatoes and peppers last evening, also one eggplant.

Noticed that there had been a deer intrusion into the garden area, some of the beans and strawberries had been nipped ... 🤬

Agenda for the rest of the day:

Recheck garden for further intrusions, spray stink juice on strawberry plants.

Start mowing front, if I get that finished start mowing down here around house.

Run into town and pick up meds.

Hope everyone is having a Good Friday ... (y)

your vision was blocked by those weeds and you just caught the edge Scott.
hopefully the cover goes back on.

lovely day outside. Charged up e bike but it said it was full.
so convenient the outside AC receptacle on rv is right around the corner, and the
cords on the charger reach by about an extra foot. Just perfect.
very happy to have that lithium battery outside of rv, not inside.
Other cordless batteries are Makita and they are pretty bulletproof.

folding beach cart showed up this morning, left it in its box and stuffed it in rv.
have a beachfront rv site for three days at OBX. Rodanthe. Camp Hatteras, popular spot.
not on the beach but first row inside the dunes, so least amount of walking.
I intend to ride the e bike all around, rv resort goes from the sound to the ocean.

I'll get all the regular walking I want on the beach.
looking for treasure.
guess I should go get my metal detector out of the basement.

rain is predicted for the whole time. Sigh.
well, I don't mind storms at the beach, fun to watch.
but it can't rain all the time.
Need a cart since I have a big folding chair, an umbrella, towels, etc.
and my kites, can't forget the kites. And the drone.

like Buppies the sun is not my friend, so very grateful actually for cloudy weather.
my experience is that clouds at the shore doesn't mean you are safe. Came back
quite red a few times, my fair skin lights up easily.
I just hate sun tan oil on my skin. Feel like a greased pig.
but I don't want to be like that guy who just died from skin cancer.
I'm already spreading that Tolak goop on my head for ruined skin there.
I think it's working too. A sore spot is going away. That's always promising.

Thomas, I’m thinking the same thing on starting to mow our field either today or tomorrow! The grass is not bad but also needs to be cut !
I notice grass more coarse hardy takes little slower speed for good cut.

Calling it a day. While doing trail maintenance with MX a tree branch popped up and skewered the engine compartment on the drivers side. Wedged between the belts and what not. Looks like I lost the alternator belt altogether. No telling what else is damaged. Only battery warning and some engine warning light on. Need to cool off and investigate.

No plumber estimate either. New calls just made. Sigh....hope the weekend starts better now. LOL.
