69F with light rain @ 14:00, that's supposed to be the high temp for the day.
Got hopper feeder refilled and cracked corn scattered for ground feeders yesterday. Tube feeders now empty as well.
Finished spraying along road south edge of road after that, also sprayed around the largest Rose of Sharon, then some on east side of shop, three planting holes on west side, one planting hole north along road, plus the swamp dogwoods which are refusing to die on west side of shop. Want to try and get those killed off otherwise they will take over the plantings bed. Then went down and started to spray around the tulip tree and ran out of juice but got it about 1/2 sprayed.
After that I watered the recently transplanted day lilies in the northeast planting bed then hooked up the Water Buffalo and took it over to the east peach tree and gave that 5 gallons.
Then headed up to the shop and watered the the 4 butterfly weeds and the swamp milkweeds.
Proceeded from there to gingko tree and gave it 2 gallons, followed by 4 gallons @ the red maple and 3 gallons @ the Japanese cherry.
That emptied the buffalo so I hauled it around back and hooked it up and started refilling it.
While it was filling I watered all the strawberry runners that I had started in pots. Also trimmed off more runners that had appeared.
Once the Water Buffalo had finished filling, I took second hand pump sprayer over and sprayed all the weeds that were still green along the east side of the cattle panel trellis. Should be able to get the last of the weed black down once things dry up some.
Then started spraying along the west edge of garden. Got that all done.
Final item was to fire up the propane weed torch and melt another 13 holes in the weed block fabric at the north end.
Did not get anything picked ...
Strawberry runners seem to be rooting pretty quickly so I should be able to start reclaiming pins from the ones that were started first so I can pin and start what remains.
LWS says rain has only totaled 0.01" so far ... better than nothing but far from ideal. Rain should end between 18:00 and 19:00.
Now into the big cool down period in the Ten Day, with highs today and next two days only in the 60's, then back up to the low 70's.
Likely spend the rest of the day inside, probably go start cleaning up the mess in the garage.
Hope everyone is having a decent Tuesday ...
