good morning, 69 going to 84 today. Got a small amount of rain last night

Got excused from jury duty due to care giver status. Is there not an age limit to jury duty?

will pick up branches with the tractor and see what else to get into now it is cooler

Have had a few outages of just a few seconds for some reason in the last few days

In Michigan and Federal courts the age limit is 70. Not sure about local or state rules.

Good day with the probate lawyer wrapping things up and ready for the estate sale. She claims I'm moving at warp speed, I told her the impending knee surgery is my incentive, because I will be shut down for a month recovering.

Ditto on the weather forecast for here. ANOTHER BRUTAL HEAT DAY TODAY.

Don, I hope after all this sale stuff, that you can get your knee fixed and it heal up well, also for you and your wife's loss. I'm sure dealing with all this, you have your melancholy moments of missing your mother. I pray there are plenty of good memories to help heal y'all.

Coffee is done brewing. 58° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 69° with mostly cloudy skies. Energy Efficiency visit turned out pretty much the way I expected. No changes needed. Not going to unplug phone chargers. Made a trip to Costco. Checked out their hearing aids. Made an appoint for hearing test in 2 weeks. Did spend any money yet. And did not get run over by a poor shopping cart operator. But it was close. Stopped on way back home at Harbor Freight to see what I didn't need. Managed to only spend $20. Have some maintainace and cleanup of wood working tools in shop today. That will be enough for today.

Law enforcement activity at the druggies, this time looking for a non-resident. Compete with “WE KNOW YOU ARE IN THERE!!!! and related theatrics… who needs TV?

Around here, the LE would get a search warrant, bust 'em and put them in jail.

As long as we have oil they won't try to eliminate us first. People breath out 7% of the CO2 that fossil fuels put out, so vehicles are the low picking fruit of the doomsday crowd and catastrophe headline seekers.

Filled the bird bath, set the water hose to trickle on one pecan tree, let the chickens out, fed the barn cat. Fixed my coffee. Yummy. chocolate pecan decaf with some milk.

Wifey put 2 pork butts in the oven overnight. She wants me to now smoke them on the pit for an hour or so. I don't have a smoker pit, only a charcoal pit, so we'll see what happens. Hopefully it won't flame up with a grease fire....

Drew, I'm surrounded with young women in short shorts at work. They are actively showing off, looking for a husband. Young enough to be my grand daughters. I treat them with respect and kindness, trying to share God's light with them. I'm thankful for a beautiful wifey, who keeps me grounded and happy.

Prayers for our team, our country, Ukraine, and thanks for the blessings, known and unknown.

Morning all, 72 going up to 83 and cloudy.
Lots of wind/rain filled the pool skimmers with leaves and covered the surface.
So had fun cleaning that all up this morning.

Did a test run on the Mini-Split- wow does that spit out cold air.
Still need to wire in surge protector, wrap pipes and general cleanup. Will try to finish tomorrow.
18K head in the garage, unit can take 3 heads, have a second 12K head for supplemental in the basement. Mr. Cool itself was an easy install.

Today, son's band comes over to practice and then to a bar near philly for them to play.
Then back here for sons birthday party. Gonna be busy.

Sodamo -sorry about the watch, I never wear my galaxy watch while working on stuff. Cracked too many watches doing that. Plus I used to work on high voltage equipment when I was younger and got in the habit of not wearing any metal.


Mostly - the kill-o-watts get good reviews, how do you like yours?

M7040 - May Grandmother was on a grand jury for almost a year while in her late 70's or early 80s. Most were housewives or retired.

With all then projects and day job running late and into weekends, still don't have my wood splitting anywhere near done.
Only took the tractor out once in the last month, and that was to move the mini-split compressor around back. I have a lot of landscape and other work to do!

Drew- too bad you don't like figs, I had my fill and will give more to the neighbors, but the tree was really full this year. Peppers good for the soul.

To make a correction Ron when you reach 70 years old you can opt out of jury duty in Virginia. In a little more than a month I’m there

It's a bit of a pain in the butt to serve on a jury. To me the worse pain is the selection process,
that is a boring drawnout tedious affair.
I've been called close to half a dozen times, I've only served twice.
One time I was simply amazed at the complete lack of sense of many of the jurors and how hard it was to get them to read and UNDERSTAND what was said during the trial. They sat there in a daze and could not seem to comprehend what was said and shown. It had to be explained to them like 3 year olds.
So to me it just goes to prove that while anyone can get out of it quite easily, maybe we shouldn't be so adverse to performing a civic duty.
Also, I thing that seems to be ignored and judges have an extreme dislike for but which we as citizens need to be aware of and willing to do regardless of judges instructions is jury nullification.
Every trail I've been too, see or heard about one of the judges instructions to the jury is that it is not their job to decide if the law is just or correct, just to determine if the party is guilty or not. And that IS where jury nullification comes in and it is an important part of our Nations history.
