No how to as it is apparent when valve cover is removed...it is just a large oring in a groove in the cover

Thanks, the cover itself, I am thinking its pretty self explanatory as to how to remove it?

Head gasket vs valve cover 0ring/gasket are two entirely different things. Need to identify your needs in more details.

Replacing gasket if that leaks is very easy, You take nut #26 off and it comes right off. Might need to use a rubber mallet as enforcement tool. Breather tube # 23 need to be taken out too. now if the gasket was the head gasket (between block and the head) that would be completely different and much more involved undertaking. I have taken the valve cover on my 1700 just to check valve leash adjustment and it is really easy job and no special tool is needed.

Below is the picture of one the guys here that replaced the head gasket for his rig. Obviously valve cover goes over the head being the much easier job.

Your terminology was correct and the illustration was not necessary. While you are there though, you should adjust the valves. I don't have the clearances off hand, but maybe JC would volunteer those as it looks like he has them handy

Please look at the attached files on how to do a valve adjustment.

I don't know if I believe that "valve adjustment while engine is idling" that's what the manual says it, You can certainly screw the valves up while doing it hot. i think that is dangerous and crazy. As far as I know valve adjustment is done cold. I have put my #1 piston on TDC and then checked it with my feeler gauge, Then I turned my #2 piston on TDC and checked for intake and exhaust valve lash spacing. Saying that and I only did it once and it was close to the specs so made no adjustment.

why is gasket #25 175$ and the larger gasket is $34?

Because the part is not used on many models and this tractor is old. But #25 can be had aftermarket:
