another $275 at costco for 19 items. ouch....

speaking of inflation, I compared 11 grocery and 8 household items frequently purchased from Costco for 2019, 2020 and 2023.
From 2019 to 2020, the total cost of all the items only increased $2.50. From 2020 to 2023 they have increased $52.91, or 23.1%. I'm assuming the same package size, but for the Tide, it decreased from 208 oz to 170 oz, so I show the equivalent price. I believe some of the other items have decreased in quantity also.

Proof of Bidenomics?

good morning all
boy did I sleep like a rock last night, but everything works this morning so onward
only high of 80 today in clouds.
plumber coming at 8:30 to install back up sump pump. Once he is done, then have day to myself, probably
will mow lawn and wash the car. Car wash is over twenty bucks now if they vacuum inside and clean windows.
During the winter I treat myself but no excuse now.

now I know why fig newtons were so expensive last time I bought them...
good spreadsheet Dennis

RNG, slow but steady, enjoy the ride, like your bike...but you'll get it all cleaned up and fixed up.
Glad you did not have issues with storm.
just make sure you prioritize that "rv access path"...could I fit my little motorhome there?
Work on those full hookups too... ;)

August 22, where did the summer go...

Poured first cup of coffee. 55° with partly cloudy skies. Heading to 76° with mix of sun and clouds. Put heavy string around garden pond to keep heron from attaching frogs. Have not seen any frogs for a few days. Sharpened mower blades. Greased all fittings. Cleaned some more tools out of chicken coop. Mowed grass when it dried. Pulled weeds in gardens around house. Adjusted rear shock springs on Mule. Found why it always seemed lower on drivers side. Right and left spring adjustments where different. More cleanup inside of chicken coop today.
Lots of large pine cones this year.

77 outside this AM, heading to mid 80's. 78% humidity.

Back to auto-pilot at day job.

Nothing on the agenda today, maybe some more weed whacking. Although the grass is really drying out and has turned crunchy in spots. Creek still flowing, but barely.

Hope all have a great day, be safe. Those ailing...best wishes for quick healing.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

67F going to low 90s, sunny all day.

we got up to the woodlot reasonably early, when it was cool. Mrs took dog for walk, I cleared out and leveled a spot immediately behind the shed to build a lean-to shed off the back, then cleared out a load of brush and thorny grabby stuff to get to the opposite corner of the property. Luckily, I didn’t quite hit the 50 hours for initial service, as I didn’t have a metric Allen that sit the drive motor plugs… so I need to buy some more tools…

Anyone know what size Allen the drive motor drain plugs are for a Kibota KX033-4?

I am definitely getting better with the excavator, especially with jump turns. I reversed my way of thinking about them and it has made a huge difference: instead of deciding which tread has to go forward and moving the swing handle toward it, I now decide which way I need to swing the boom and activate the tread in forward closest to how the swing handle points. It sounds trivial but it works for me.

The rest of the day was porch time.

Made an appointment for spa guy to come out and look at leak on hot tub, so today is a general clean up on and around the screenporch. And whatever other house putterings can be squeezed in.

now to catch up on all the GM posts since yesterday that I am behind on…

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

After a spell of rain and cooler temps the dry and heat is back. The 12v AGM battery on the Prius C died after 10 years and 3 months. I was excited I was able to get it out from under the back seat and onto tailgate the pickup so I could read the date on it.. The downside was the pickup tailgate wound up eating my relative new smartphone because its owner is not so smart. The black phone one the black tailgate got curled too much to still work when I tried to shut the tailgate.

After lunch yesterday I saw the new one on the step to the tool trailer and started that process. But since the screen was black I couldn't do the port but thanks backups in the Cloud with the help of my son late last night, it's working at 90% because of the data transfer was not one for one but thanks for the web backup services I am mostly good.

They didn't have the special Group 34 Prius battery in Murray so Sunday I drove 70 miles to the AutoZone in Princeton KY to pick up the battery by way of I-24. The river bottoms crops looked bad.due to the floods.
