Your comfort on a step ladder is impressive (top step?)
Have you thought about adding an inside wall about half way up to prevent the goats from pushing out the siding?

As I edit it, I think about how I need to mo e the ladder more and not go so high on it.

I am adding some 2x4 across the middle to beef it up and make it harder for a predator to pull the thing apart.

It's not so much a predator, as it is the goats rustling around when they're frighted. My neighbor has sheeep, and all the walls of their sheds are bulged out because they "bunch up".

So here is a newbie question for experienced goat owners. Right now we just have 4 goats. The plan is to have a lot more. They poop a lot. So
Much that after just 5 days there is very little area of the main pen that doesn’t have some. Are you supposed to do anything with it? How would you even gather goat poop? Sweep it? How long does it take to break down. I think Eddie has a pretty big herd. What do you do?

I ignore it. The poop is fertilizer, it's small, it doesn't smell, and it's not worth the effort unless you want to sweep the floor in their barn.

They will climb on their food and poop on it if they can. Ideally, you should have their feed trough on the outside of their fence where they can only put their heads through to get their feed. If you use a trough inside their area, they will climb on it and poop in it with their food. They do the same with the hay bale. We sweep it out of the tough because we haven't built a real barn yet. When I do, I will have proper feeding troughs.

It went well, no big arguments. We get those occasionally but usually, the shared toil keeps us on the same page.

Haha, right on man. Same for my wife and I. But it's gotten worse since our own urgency wore off, the house is "done" and she doesn't really do the "toil" thing anymore - but still has opinions and criticisms lol
