Good morning!!!!

Good Morning!!!! 67F @ 6:15AM. Sunny. Hot. High 98F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

I've had good luck diluting spearmint oil in water and spraying it where I don't want mice. Smells nice, too.

There's a lot of interest in older Japanese dirt bikes, Don. Do a search in Facebook Marketplace with the model and you'll get a feel for what people think they are worth.
RNG, hope the house deal is working out for you. Terrible that the Fed raised rates again to the highest level in 22 years. My son and his wife are interested in buying a home, but high mortgage rates make it tough.
The loan will be assumed at the original rate of 1.49%. Up until yesterday, the paperwork they were asking me to sign was at 4.49%. Yesterday they finally got the numbers right, and I was able to sign. Another hurdle done. The rest of the deal is cash, so no interest rate worries there. At least in that market, there are a lot of price reductions. Homes start out at rediculous prices, sit on the market, and the sellers relent. But not by much. Too many folks selling multi-million dollar shacks in the Los Angeles area and wanting to take advantage of the good Santa Maria weather, grateful they can get four bedrooms and three baths for less than a million. All the while a million dollar home in Santa Barbara is almost unheard of, with a typical 3 BR 2 BA going for a cool three mil.

Had a go round with the title company over how the deed will be signed, either with all three names or a middle initial. Depends on how the trust I have is set up, and it uses both. On reviewing said trust, it needed updating anyway, so that's one of the things I fixed. Title lady was happy, I'm happy, and the notary at the UPS Store was happy, too. But it cost me most of the cool time in the morning, and all I got done was spraying the rest of the weeds. The side-by-side is still overheating, but only when working on the steeper parts of the land. It's still using water, but faster when it works harder.

When I left the garage the morning of the trip, I heard something moving around under the workbench. I'd seen a little rabbit scampering in and out the past few days, but didn't have time to run it down. Yesterday when I came out into the garage, there were two dead bunnies laying on the floor. Hope they didn't chew anything up before they croaked.

The Toyota dealer called and wanted to set up an appointment for the first free maintenance on the Camry. It gets a tire rotation and an inspection. Also gonna ask them to fix the blurry rear view mirror and wind noise from the side windows. The internet says they all do that, but I want a record made of it in case there's a recall later.

Gonna try to finish off the house sprinklers this morning before it gets too warm, then maybe change the oil in the Camry. Not sure what else I'll get into, other than it will be inside.

TGIF gang!

Will work on wife’s pics today. What a mess. I back mine up constantly to computer and date and keep organized, she doesn’t do a thing. I have a directory on my computer where I downloaded everything. To preserve the picture date I can’t just do a windows copy to her phone. I did find the iPhone pic app will let you modify the date, but don’t want to do that for 1200 pics.

My wife is an avid photographer.

I use a windows based file system for network storage.

Have you tried the windows based utility robocopy? It allows for preservation of date and times.

Buppies, if you do fix your miracle machine, would you please get GM to make this in a 2500 diesel with supercruise.
nice looking truck, but very resistant to downsizing trailer to fit the truck. which of course means upsizing the truck and gaining
another ton, or two. Such a wack a mole, bang the weight up to help with towing and bang the ease of using as a daily driver way down.

so Buppies, talk to Santa please, it's not too early, while you are working on that white pavement machine,
see if you can arrange a 3/4 ton 1000# torque diesel
with self driving that looks like this truck on mild steroids.

I wonder what a Rivian with duallies would be like?
It's got the weight and sure has the horsepower.
wait another year until they build more chargers.
many Ford Lightnings have been getting 100-150 mile range while towing heavy trailers, that's a real problem and a lot of stopping
and waiting. Does make you wonder if we are backing the right horse with EV, and not going for cleaner fuels like I think the
Europeans are doing. That train has left the station, China is building close to 1 million EV cars a year.

I kind of like going down to my neighborhood gas station, the one I've been going to since age 16 and saying hi to the owner
when getting gas. Those days will soon be gone, replaced by robots at gas stations likely. Besides, the station I like just over the river in NJ
means it's NJ, and they pump your gas. Only state in the country where that is law. They even occasionally will wash your windshield, without asking.
like time travel back to the "old days".
Kilroy, you have to admit, one of the few benefits of NJ...besides their beaches.

these 22 inch rims would have to go. Would downsize to 20, mandatory for that trim level, which is dumb.

back outside I go

RNG, did I understand you right that you have moved all the way down to Santa Barbara? You will be near the coast like my sister and likely have much cooler weather.
keep your light on, I'm coming down Route 1 Sept 2024.

Santa Barbara is a city on the central California coast, with the Santa Ynez Mountains as dramatic backdrop. Downtown, Mediterranean-style white stucco buildings with red-tile roofs reflect the city’s Spanish colonial heritage. Upscale boutiques and restaurants offering local wines and seasonal fare line State Street. On a nearby hill, Mission Santa Barbara, founded in 1786, houses Franciscan friars and a museum.
