Happy Father’s Day to you also JC-yes sir i already looked at the valve cover nuts and put a socket on them-they were tight-looks like there is no gasket or maybe it’s swashed i really can’t tell by just looking at it

It is difficult or expensive to source valve cover gasket. RTV Blue will be fine. A good portion of tractor components are put together with RTV or some silicon gasket material. My suggestion is that you clean the groove if the gasket is round compressible o-ring type or if it is just flat metal to metal. Once cleaned then you would want to put a nice thin bead of RTV and let it skin and dry out a bit, kind of less sticky to touch, then you put it together and tighten the valve cover equally by criss cross tightening the nuts. Don't tighten it too much for RTV to entirely ooze out.
Hey JC I’ve got the valve cover gasket out and cleaned up-do i leave the old O ring gasket in place and silicone over it or remove it then silicone the cover-thank you again

is the gasket Flat? or is it o-ring type? if it is flat by all means you can lightly clean gasket material it with a light de-greaser. I would let it flat between two card board with news paper with some light weigh for it to dry out but maintaining shape. After it dries our then I would smear a think coat on one side, let skin and put it on the head (put the sticky side down. Then I will put a thin layer on the opposite side, facing up, let it dry out a bit and then put the cover back. tighten and torque the head in a criss cross fashion. let me know if it is round rubber o-ring type gasket. depending the size I also make gasket hard to find from a sheet of gasket material and transfer the layout and cut it out.

It’s a o ring type-i removed it and cleaned up the cover-then put atv blue in place of the o ring gasket-it’s on the tractor I’m giving it 24 hrs to dry before starting-I’ll keep you posted-thank you again for your advice 👍

I think you're good to go specially waiting 24 hrs for it to cure. It will be a brand new gasket material.
