Just my 2cents. I have a 2017 xr4150 with around 250hrs now. I usually run it over 2k rpm as that's what the pto asks for. Not sure If I've experienced a regen yet. Did have an electrical problem that put it into limp mode. Dealer had it around 3 months. Also had a wheel bearing fail. Probably my fault running the loader too hard. Was waiting for the parts for 2 months from LS. Got pissed, ordered it from Messicks, was in my hands the next day. Tried to discuss this situation with the owners of the LS dealer, coulndn't get a hold of them, the customer service people didn't seem to care. A bit of a head scratcher? Messicks is just a dealer, albeit a great dealer. You'd figure both LS and New holland would have a warehouse somewhere in the US that could support all their dealers. Shouldn't take some common small parts more than a week to show up. When the tractor has been running it's a beast. Has all the features including 3rd function loader and dual rear remotes. Seems well built too, but my confidence in support has been shaken.

Local shop just got a $10M fine by the Michigan Attorney Generals office for diesel engine modification jobs. If you live in California, you might consider murdering your dealer, you'll only get probation instead of a big fine, loss of your tractor, and prohibition of ever buying another one. This is the main reason for the 'Right to Repair' conflict. Owners who modify emissions equipment cause the manufacturers to be held accountable. Pretty soon a 'locked' hood accessible only to licensed dealers will be mandated for cars and trucks. Proposed several years ago by the EPA, but it's coming .....

I have seen TYM video on youtube, on the TYM you just cut out the center so it is a straight pipe.

You can't take the exhaust apart and clean it yourself?
Then you can dump the crap in the burn barrel and all
done the RATS will have nothing to say with a clean burn

Meanwhile the government specifically orders all of their heavy equipment, semi trucks, tractors, bull dozers, hummers, etc. without any emissions. They are exempt from all EPA rules.

"Do as I say, not as I do"

Some BS

That's very interesting. Do you have a reference for that? (link)

Links are hard to come by actually.

"A few weeks ago while I was there having my truck serviced, in the next stall was a 2011 Western Star, owned by the U.S. Air Force," Bill wrote. "Looking under the hood, I noticed two things, there were no emissions [aftertreatment equipment] and the 14-liter Detroit was stamped for 'export only.' Last time I checked, Pennsylvania is part of the continental United States. A few weeks later, there was another one being serviced, surprise, no emissions and stamped for 'export only.' "

"The U.S. Military also has a large vehicle fleet that consumes diesel fuel. However, DEF is not commonly used in bases across the world. With the exception of vehicles used for local travel, heavy-duty vehicles such as tanks and work trucks are exempt of NOx reduction regulations. This is due in large part for lack of high quality, low sulfur diesel fuel in places such as Iraq and Afghanistan, whereas jet fuel, that has a high sulfur content that would quickly clog filters that use DEF, is plentiful."

I was watching this YouTube video a few weeks ago and heard about this military dozer having zero emissions controls on it. (Starts at 38:40)

Well ... think of the alternative. Form letters going out to families ... "The Dept. of Defense regrets to inform you that your [son/husband/wife] was [captured/KIA/reported MIA] while on a critical mission in [s__thole of the moment]. According to reports from survivors of the incident, [he/she/they] died while valiantly defending [his/her/their] vehicle after it had gone into forced depowering mode to prevent degradation of the environment. Enemy forces, oblivious to their impacts on the world climate, took advantage of the situation and overpowered your [son/husband/wife]'s vehicle and position. Please know that your nation appreciates your family's sacrifice, and you can be proud in the knowledge that your [son/husband/wife]'s actions were instrumental in helping this nation defend the climate goals of the United Nations and global corporations. I totally agree with that and I understand.

However them forcing sub-par problematic emissions systems on the public is an issue. These systems are in need of a major overhaul / redesign when it comes to reliability. The public is paying out the nose, meanwhile they get a free pass.

I agree with you, but that's always been the case. In the mid-70's, the most valuable items in my toolbox as a mechanic were a bag of golf tees and a roll of windshield washer tubing. Those allowed me to disconnect all the vacuum lines from the carburetor to emissions controls and tune the cars properly. The EPA has never cared about the value proposition, only their mandate. Manufacturers (of the day) didn't care since they met the req's on exit from the factory, & knew that everything would get disabled anyway, or the car would be traded in for something "new & improved". WIN/WIN for the manufacturer -- deny the warranty claims for tampering with emissions and/or sell a new vehicle. Same as today, only you need to be more electronics and computer savvy to get around the restrictions, and they have made it more expensive to correct than a few plugs & tubing.

I have a LS XG3037H I was wondering how to delete the regen system. I've had it to the dealer. He cleared the vaults on it. and of course it went back into limp mode. When I had it at the dealer, he said one of the injectors in the exhaust was working the other one was not. They reversed the wiring 2nd one come on first wouldn't. He told me it would take a new ECU unit at around 3 grand to fix it. I bought this tractor used. So, no warranty. It's a 2017 model with a little over 500 hours. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. It's in limp mode now. I was also wondering if one of the code readers would clear the vaults. I've seen one advertised for just under 200 bucks.

Sure it's the ECU & not the wire to the injector? There's another thread on here about LS deletes that might help you out. Basically involves punching out the DPF core with rebar, but may require a code reset before you do that. AS I remember, someone also gave instructions on rewiring the throttle to eliminate the ECU from the equation. As far as code readers, anything that'll do heavy diesels should read & clear, but the adapter is the issue. You'd need a bidirectional if you want to issue commands (Regen), & Launch with their Diesel module would run about 2K (1/2 the price of the scanner LS uses in their service manual).

They are hard to operate with your fingers crossed the Regen holds up.

One day the US will look like Cuba, with old cars and old equipment everywhere because it still works, people can maintain it and it doesn’t need “software updates.”
I already started. When Kubota raised their prices in January I cancelled and bought a restored 1967 Ford 3000 diesel. Then discovered I love running old tractors more than my newer ones.

Doesn't have a built in cup holder though, so the new generation wouldn't want that. LOL

2022 no emissions powerstroke for big brother
All the big military trucks at a base near me are all deleted.
And I see ALL the new ambulances and school busses here are now gas engines.

All you have to do is remove filter and rewire solenoid, easy!

The ambulances with a van cutaway chassis don't have a choice. No one puts a diesel in that chassis any more. They didn't want to switch to a conventional cab, therefore a gas motor.
