Good morning, 45 going to 55 today with wind gusts up tp 20 MPH

Doctor appointment this morning for follow up on shoulder injury.

Repaired the dragging battery cable on the mower yesterday. Otherwise a relaxing indoor rain day.

Spent some time preparing daughter for new to her, role as panel discussion moderator for conference starting this week.
Feels good to be able to transfer knowledge

Kil, there are several tricks to learn on operating the X that are pretty neat.
What I found even more instructive was all the videos of excavator ”fails” so as to learn what NOT to do!

these are fun:

Thanks will look at that. The boom has rescued me so far when in trouble
Question: is the only place to put tools in the storage compartment in the cabin? Or is there somewhere else to put things like a lifting chain/shackles/etc?

Just thought of another: Besides a hammer, what tools do you find helpful to keep onboard?

Thanks!

There is a compartment to keep a grease gun. Pretty small. No other space for anything except on the floor. I only keep a couple of wrenches for changing the bucket since I don't use the Lynch pin system. Never had any trouble with it to require any tools.

Happy May Day. 4 months retired now, hard to believe.
As noted yesterday, not much planned for today.
Got new HDMI cable ordered for church, directional cable that uses fiber.
Kyle, my oldest sons capstone project was cool, they applied for a patent on it. A screw gun auto feeder for when doctors put a skull back together after brain surgery. As the only computer engineer on the project, he selected the microcontroller and did all the programming.
My youngest son was so excited when he found out a week earlier they had scheduled him for song service for Sunday morning. He has done Sunday and Wednesday night’s. He selected his songs, themed to the lesson a week ahead and made up the song slides to project. He or I put those together every week and he usually runs the projection and streaming. So after all that the new projector acted up and he had to just use the books
And the microphone batteries died and I had to change them in the middle of service so online viewers could hear.
But the good news was we had a baptism and my son got to on the spot pick and lead a few more songs.

Batteries are cheap - always use new every time.

put out a bin “Free BaTerrie’s - Lightly Used” and they won’t go to waste.

I went through a lot of batteries, way back when - my co-workers were thrilled.

Good morning it’s 50 and the sun is shining. Considering that we got just shy of 4” of rain since Friday, it’s a welcome sight. The rain was pretty evenly distributed with no real gully washers, so it will be helpful overall.

Spent most of yesterday in the shop, started by reclaiming a table that I had to clear off to get at an outlet so that I could attach a ground wire for an Ethernet surge protector that I added to the cable to the barn.

Spent a lot of time going over digital audio mixers with an “old school” mix engineer that we are going to use for some upcoming gigs. He was trying to wrap his head around the fact that all of the outboard hardware that he was used to is now software. At the end of the day he was convinced that he had all the same functionality in a much more compact package with very little cabling. This was good news because we can use our gear, and we already have setups stored in its memory that we know work, and make a sound check go very smoothly.

Zoe hung out in the shop with me for hours, she was very well behaved. I took her for a walk and brought her home, and she came back later for while.

Today will start with a ride to Quakertown to get parts for the little airplane, it’s inspection time. Probably work on that for a while, and then who knows what I’ll get into before it’s time to take Zoe to class tonight.

Morning all, 50 going up to 58 and sun is out.
More heavy rains and branches down last night. Got about 5 inches since Friday.

Just ran errands and kid to date yesterday, back to day job.

Be well,
