That stinks. You are at the mercy of their system. There should be a temperature switch involved also. Mine won't activate automatically unless it is cold enough. I can override it by doing it manually.

An update. I did one more test to eliminate any possible wire issues. I jumpered from preheat controller voltage output to glow plug relay. Still did not activate relay. It all points to the preheat controller. I have ordered one and should have it early next week.

Time for an update. Part arrived Monday. Not what I ordered. I ordered a preheat controller and got a safety unit, Started Ebay return process and very shortly had a return authorization and a shipping label. I called Perry Power and explained that I still want the preheat controller. They agreed to relist it on Ebay. Ordered it again. Turns out they really didn't have one. I was told they should have some in a couple of days. Now I take my hat off to Perry Power. They were quick to react to an issue and just as quick to notify and apologize for the inventory issue.

The odyssey is over. Week and a half ago I ordered a controller from another Maine dealer. They didn't have it in stock but said Kioti did. Finally got it late yesterday and installed it this morning. 42 degrees out and started instantly. Back to normal.
