It's a great chore tractor. I bought it for $8,500 and spent $1,500 on minor repairs and a new pair of rear tires. I've had it 8 or 9 years. Very good match with the larger Kubota w/FEL.

A single axle dump truck and a skid steer would allow you to get not only into storm cleanup, but all kinds of other work.

Between my friend and I, we have a dump trailer, a small tracked Cat excavator, and a smattering of things like a post-hole digger and a 7' gear drive tiller.

He is actively looking to buy a Kubota SVL-75-2/95-2 so, I'm looking for something along the lines of a Massey 5S tractor or possibly a CaseIH Maxxum if the Massey option doesn't work out.

When I find a 1-ton dually dump bed pickup that isn't totally shot and worn out, I will probably add that to the mix along with a bigger trailer (larger than my Big Tex 14-PI) to do some heavier hauling as the excavator and the pending Skid Steer are really too heavy with fuel and dirt for the current trailer. Not so worried about slow-speed local trips but, we really need more tow vehicle and trailer capacity to provide a larger margin of safety when moving the excavator and skid steer. My tractor and current trailer will be right at published specs as well so, a bit more trailer would be welcome for it as well even though not technically required.

I'm wondering if TYM will enter the skid steer market anytime because those SVLs look pretty expensive.

Wishful thinking on my part, but I wish someone would make an affordable skid loader.

Cat, John Deere, New Holland, CaseIH, Kubota, Bobcat, and several Japanese and Korean options are on the market with equipment like this. They cost pretty similar money when they have similar features.

The same can be said of backhoes. Pretty spendy but, priced similarly among the brand options.

Absolutely you made the best choice under those circumstances.

It comes down to what's important in your situation, more cash in the bank/
investments or no tractor loan.

I'm not hurting for money but I'm not made of it either. So I opted to keep my cash in the bank rather than pay cash.

My interest is very low and I can always pay it off earlier.
