Power came back. Was out for 4 hours
But no internet or cable tv
At least we can make coffee and it tasted good
Kept the house warm with the wood fire but of course there was no water since we are on a well.

Small earthquake yesterday centered around your area. Did you feel it? Our friends on the mountain did.

Good morning to all! Low of 6°, brrrrrr..... Pellet stove still purring away. High is only expected to hit 28° again. We exceeded the forecast high yesterday.... hitting a high of 29°.
Wait a minute.... we are in the SW.... why are the east coast guys hitting 60°? We should be having those temps......

Drew, good luck and have fun bringing home the RV!

Dennis, neat video of the haying.

Wow, I can't believe the prices of those bales of hay.... Out here, the hay is "imported" from elsewhere, usually Colorado. I haven't checked prices, but that has to make it even more expensive.

Not too much on the agenda, just assist the wifey with prep for the GS birthday. She's going to make 3 homemade pizzas, then ice cream cake, as requested by the GS.

Was going to make a Costco run, but I don't need gas and nothing on the list is of immediate importance..... can wait until next week.

I might try to fix that barn door track. The wind is calm today, so no excuses to not go out to the shop for the tools.

Wng, was your 'Rabbit Hole' a restaurant or a historic landmark? I really like those old buildings. I remember doing some remodeling work on a historical registered building in New Hope, Pa. The basement was only 5-6' high, and had the full tree trunk logs for joists. The floor had one board that was 26" wide and almost 30' long. Lots of other wide / long boards too. The side walls were balloon framed, planked with some long boards too, floor to roof.

It's Friday! (Not that it matters, just programmed that way) Hope everyone has a great day!

44°F and partly cloudy this morning, got up to 61° here today. Some rain coming through overnight, followed by cooler air and 30s for Friday, then back up into the 50s for the weekend. Seems like an atypically warm February, which is usually our worst month for winter weather.

Wife got some terrible news yesterday, albeit not unexpected. Our oldest (14/yo) Border Collie, Evey, has been having some health problems lately. She's gotten sluggish and weak in the past couple of months, and mostly lays around all day. We had to get a lift strap to help her get up and down the stairs, and now she doesn't even bother going down there. Wife took her to the vet yesterday, who confirmed what she'd suspected for some time; the lump near her kidneys has spread to her spleen and is malignant. Told her she may have a week, two weeks, maybe a month. Euthanasia is the only cure. Gave her some pain medicine and said to let her eat whatever she wants and just enjoy the time with her, then bring her back when she's ready. Dawna is devastated.

Got a text message from my old boss this morning asking me to call him. Was hoping it wasn't to tell me his father had died. It wasn't. In fact, he asked me how my new job is going. When I told him it's fantastic, he sighed and said that's too bad. He said he wanted to ask me to come back. I politely declined, and encouraged him to keep looking, recounting my own hesitation to go there at first as well.

Hope everyone here is doing well, too.

Good evening, gents.
Sorry about your Evey pup. I'm sure she had fine companions taking care of her. We all know how much Dawna loves dogs, taking in rescues. And you too, for helping her with it. The toughest emotions...often come at the end of your "man's best friend's" life. Wish they lasted longer.

RNG, back in 2009ish, I was looking into the VW diesels. The cost to replace the timing belts pretty much offset some of the savings of the higher mileage. But the price of diesel being over a buck higher, sealed the savings deal. Not sure about the later models, and what exactly VW did with all the ones that got recalled. Had a friend of a friend who did not want to turn his in. He loved it.

65°F and 1.51 inches rain and still coming down.

Goal is to finish Sophie’s laundry sink installation. No bending, no lifting anything heavy.

H&F later. I’m attempting a Chicken & Shrimp curry.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
