Was that a tricky insinuation with the "FedX and their big brown truck" or just a slip up in verbage?I have a mile long gravel driveway. About 25 years ago FedX and their big brown truck got stuck in the snow on my driveway. I went down and pulled the vehicle back onto the driveway. Ever since that time - NONE of the delivery services come down the driveway - any time of the year. The package is in a plastic garbage bag - hanging on the outer gate.
I get large deliveries( larger than will fit in the mailbox) about once every four months. So.... it's not an inconvenience to anybody.
Geez - ovrszd. You are right. I screwed up. It WAS a big brown truck. It was UPS not FedEx. You can see how often I get package delivery. I can't even keep the names straight.
That is all clean gravel, it is wide enough to drive a dump truck down the right side of the garage to the back yard.Just off the edge of the apron behind the dark colored vehicle, downward in the pics, gravel to the trees. Enough area for the delivery truck to back into and turn around?
Same problem here. I solved it by getting a load of stone dust. I used a rear blade to spread it thinly over the crusher run which choked it up so it packs down firmly. A little regrading is still necessary sometimes but nowhere near as often.Other than ordering less stuff, how can we minimize the 3 point turn ruts in our crusher run driveway from deliveries. The drive is 700' so backing out is not a reasonable ask. When they crank their tires from one side to the other in one spot it makes a little depression, when it rains, the depression stays a little damper than the surrounding area and it gets 5x worse the next time they crank, and they all do it in a different spot. We try to stay on top of it, rake, tamp, smooth with a bucket, but it is nearly a daily task with all of the rain we have had. Eventually we may concrete this area, but that is not in the cards in the immediate future. Thought about the geocell stuff but not sure how many full turns of a loaded delivery truck before it starts breaking down. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I use to have this problem too. You need a few sharp looking boulders. Fixed my problem. But they did manage to hit one 2x.I have a circular driveway and a bad Fedex driver, who I have complained about.
It seems only he can't figure out how to stay on tarmac.
Yes, he drives right over the marker like it's a challenge.

You filed a claim for some grass damage? After filing a claim last week… the driver backed out today, instead of turning around![]()
Damn right I did. Its not difficult to stay on the gravel…unless you don’t give a ****. I assume after a few claims, drivers are replaced… so I see it as motivation for the kid to do better. You filed a claim for some grass damage?
Gesus...do you also send certified letters to your neighbor for issues before even talking to them?Damn right I did. Its not difficult to stay on the gravel…unless you don’t give a ****. I assume after a few claims, drivers are replaced… so I see it as motivation for the kid to do better.
Nope. My neighbors and I get along fine. And if they damaged my property they would gladly make it right.Gesus...do you also send certified letters to your neighbor for issues before even talking to them?

Man, if only I could half ass flying an airliner based upon the gratitude of my passengers. Most people do good work, because they are paid a wage. If my attention to detail was based on the gratitude of the people in the back… well… have you listened to airline passengers lately? In 42 years I've never had FedEx, USPS, UPS ever damage the lawn. Maybe it's because I run out with a cold soda!![]()
