It is my old Bacho 6 inch adjustable. Got it 65 years ago when starting my apprenticeship as mechanic You can tell I carried it in my side pocket of coveralls for years because of the polish on the raised areas

My other unique puller and the extra long rope that I can swap out when needed: Rope Pullers

The rope can be as long as needed with max leverage start to end, unlike a drum style cable come-along
Xfaxman - thanks for posting that. I bought one of those about 40 years ago to pull and replace the engine & gearbox on my second car, a '68 Volvo wagon. After that it got a lot of use with a Peavey, un-hanging trees and moving/rolling logs which made limbing a lot quicker. That helped keep the saw bar away from dirt and rocks, so my blades stayed sharp a lot longer. Looks like Maasdam hasn't changed the design since I got mine. Except the handle - mine's faded blue and pretty chewed up. As you noted, not having the line stored on the drum is a real deal changer. Not only do you get max leverage start to end, you can also crank however much rope you have rigged in one set-up. Since it uses a hefty rope, adding "accessories" like a snatch block or block & tackle is a natural extension of the tool's utility. Great tool. Glad to see they haven't messed with it.

Wife got me a Dewalt 20vlt 1/2" ratchet for Christmas

Had to go out to the truck and get a battery to try it

Told her to get me the one without a battery. They were on sale for 1/2, the price of one that came with batteries. Batteries from my Mac impact set will work in it. And I already have 4 batteries.

Nice!!! Now I'm envious. I have a 1/2 inch impact which I bought to help assemble my sawmill, but your will get into a lot of places my impact wrench won't.

Edit; they sure don't give those away, I guess I'll be pulling on a wrench for a while longer.

On a whim, I bought a $100 corded 'hand planer'.
Where it shines, is, say a joist and a rafter meet and one drifts 1/4 towards the other, throwing the flooring or the decking lines off.
2 passes at 1/8, now they fit!
Seconds of work instead of minutes of prying to connect.
Makes 1-man framing fun again.

I've been wanting one for a while. Got some locations on equipment at work where you have 20 or so bolts to remove and not enough space for an impact. The elbow really starts complaining after doing them by hand.

I found them on sale for around $120 without batteries when i sent the link to my wife. With batteries, they were over $250 that's why I told my wife to just get the ratchet since I had batteries that would fit. I might get a dedicated battery for it later. But I'll wait for a sale and hunt for a coupon.

I have several batteries including a couple of 6 ah, so just the tool would suffice. I may have to put one on my "wish" list. 👍
