Getting tired of all the rain. It's been dark, dank, and dreary for a few weeks now.

Had a busy couple of weekends. Daughter had her water heater bust and flooded a closet in her house.

Met my son in law in town last weekend, and we picked up a new hot water heater. Ran it over to their house with the truck and installed it.

Removed a section of drywall to inspect to make sure the water that leaked into the bedroom didn't saturate the insulation. As well as letting fans blow on it to dry it out.

Removed the flooring in the closet as well as the underlayment. Pealed the flooring and u deployment back till we got to dry floor as well. Got the floor bleached and let it air and dry for the week.

Went over today and taught my son in law the particulars in replacing flooring. And how to do drywall. They got lucky and found a couple of bundles of flooring in the attic. Just enough to replace what had to be torn up from the water leak in the bedroom. That flooring style/ color was discontinued a couple years ago. So forget finding a replacement that would match.

Ran into town, and we were able to find a close match for the closet. Picked up the underlayment, supplies to patch the drywall. Then 5 hrs later we got finished

He's gotta finish the spackling, painting and has some base boards to replace. But at least they can move back into their bedroom instead of sleeping on the couch.

Little man was a good help too.

70˚F. The rains held off so I stayed at work for the flashlight ornament hunt. 60 people showed up to look for a few thousand ornaments.

34°F and cloudy this morning, got up to 45° and stayed cloudy all day. We had a little light rain and drizzle early this morning.

Spent much of the day cleaning the house in preparation for tomorrow's cookie extravaganza The Wife is having. It's sure to smell fattening here all day. I'm going to hide in the basement with the dogs while the girls have their fun upstairs.

Appreciate all the kind comments about Katniss. She really was a sweetheart. Of all the cats I've had over the years, I'd put her in the top two.

Good evening all. 63ºF for the start, overcast, light breeze. Light wind, overcast and rain, and high temp was 64ºF, at 10 AM, low temp forecast is for 50ºF at midnight. Forgot to check rain gauge this morning, so tomorrow reading will be for 48 hrs. Bike ride this morning, weather forecast said it would not happen. Rain coverage was forecast to increase about 10 or 11AM, first sprinkle about 10:30. we were near sub shop when harder rain start, stopped in for coffee, started home and heavier rain started again. made it home, radar estimate for rain 1-2 inch. Had to wring out arm warmers and sweat bands and socks. Lunch then nap then VFD Christmas party.
Randy(wag) so no horses for a couple of days? Christmas decorations nice touch. Hope you enjoyed your pizza.
Ron Glad you found another air leak and got it caulked. Hope the electrical box project goes with out too many problems. neat woodpecker sot.

Billy hope chainsaw cooperated. Smoke detector batteries, better to change on your schedule, their schedule is in middle of night.
Drew railroads came up with the time zones, all the towns had their own time standard. When i was still a tool maker still a lot of manual machines would be expensive change over especially lathes. Spark plug threads are metric, Europe supplied spark plug early in engine development.
Buppies glad water table recharged, we are much closer now than over summer. Glad wife getting some sleep, prayers sent.
Thomas hope you got some good pics on cams. Little smokies sound good.
Buppies front loaders over the side if nothing below, otherwise into dump trucks is my guess.
Frits hope you get medication worked out. Never got used to HP calculators. Learned to program TI calculators, work on TI 59 with mag cards for long time.
Paul sorry about the lack of clean oil at start of job. Glad inspection done on wife's car. Hope flight went well. When I started flying in mid 70's airplane thermometer was in ºF, Flight Service weather observations were in ºF.
Gstrom antibiotics often not effective against virus caused illness.

Drew I am sure most of us have experienced GPS map errors, Several spots in Seattle that have error uncorrected for years.
Drew the one sauna I was st that was clothing optional was unisex. The Russians have a thing about using green branches to promote blood circulation at skin.

Frits my family went to Montreal for World's Fair using a pop up camper. Not much problem in town, went to country side for a few days, nobody would admit to speaking English even when cable to raise top broke at night. Dad got the trailer ok to tow and headed for Ontario. Spent few days, got trailer fixed and no language issues

Today is one of those special days. Great Granddaughter celebrates her 3rd birthday. It was also my wife's birthday.
Got plugs wired up to work lights on shop machines. Not sure what I will get into today.

Mostly, riding in the rain is not fun.

Good morning, low temp is 15 and going to a high of 23°F. Wind E 13 mph. 60% chance of flurries. The wind chill makes it feel like 1.

The forecast 60% chance of flurries just became 100% chance of snow. So far only 1/2" but more is coming.

The temperature in my man cave is 77°F. I am NOT naked. I have my slippers, watch and glasses on. This house is clothing optional.

Driving in Montreal and driving in Toronto was night and day difference. In Toronto when you get cut off, which is common you had better be sharp because most of the time after the cut off the 4 wheeler will pile on the brakes. In Montreal you get cut off but the 4 wheeler is doing about 80 mph.
Like the French in Montreal say, I may not be able to turn right on a red light, but I can go right through it.
I haven't been to the swamp (Quebec) in about 30 years and I sure don't miss it.

Today is going to be a you tube/energy conservation day.

not starting out well
woke up, raced for bathroom, didn't make it.
4 trips so far, what in the world got ahold of me yesterday....of course walking through the nursing home didn't help.
I haven't been sick at all yet, am hoping body is fighting off.
thank goodness I got a bidet seat...............

was supposed to visit another Quaker Meeting this morning, that isn't going to happen.
too bad, the Christmas stuff is going on now, kids with their Christmas plays, etc.

cold rainy morning, going to rain most of day, lot of snow North of us.

Sorry to hear the unfavorable reviews of Mission BBQ...I haven't tried the brisket, but always enjoy the pulled pork and chicken.

DFtodd, great family repair project. We had a water heater leak in a closet and warp some hardwood floor...only claim we've ever made on homeowners insurance. New floor did not match as well as you've done.

Buppies, I started seeing several news feeds on that rockslide once you reported it, including a video from WSET 13. Glad no one was driving there then.

check - Quebec City is high on our list for travel. Need to brush up on our French.

Worked on firewood yesterday, and repaired one of the pallet racks where I originally used too small lumber for the job, but just used whatever scraps I had...still there, just added a small piece of 2x4 as a corner brace. Now need to refill it.
