m7040 - if you cut these two down to 20 - 22 inches and added a 2 x 12 plank between them, you'd have a pretty good bench for the yard. I did that near the firepit a few years ago.

Roy, I have BPH fairly well controlled by low dose prescription, mostly annoying.
May your pipes cooperate.

I was watching a recent Messicks video and he referred to their new head location being only half an hour away from New Holland main plant in New Holland Pa.
I looked on Google maps and couldn't identify most of the stuff in the yard, loaders I think, and if you zoom in on the red equipment you will see rows of
what I think are pull behind bailers.

If I had a farm near Lancaster, i sure would want a tractor from Messicks, either a Kubota or New Holland.
I think that blue could grow on you. Kubota will fade on you...but is likely best tech.
John Deere dealer will retire in Florida on you.
First one to give me a hundred fifty horsepower hydrostatic wins.

48F, partly cloudy, and very breezy @ 13:15. That will likely be the day's high - it's pretty much all downhill from here.

Woke up early this morning, got up and laid down on the couch and promptly fell back asleep for another 4 hours.

Like I said yesterday: the digging bar and being on my feet kicked my butt.

While I was waking up Woman asked "How about planting some of those trees/bushes today since it's a 'sit down' job ?"

I told Her to go away and leave me alone until I finished my coffee ...

She is a morning person and is often quite chatty and wants to converse in the early hours of the day. Me, not so much.

She's headed out to the grocery to pick up supplies for dinner. Could be either stuffed peppers or meatloaf. Stuffed peppers was Her inclination, meatloaf was mine. After discussing it a bit, She was warming up to the idea of meatloaf ... since She likes meatloaf sandwiches.

I told Her to get both, as that way we'd be covered for the next week without having to run back out.

Had some rain overnight. Haven't been out to see how big of mess it made.

Massive amounts of leaves have blow down over the last 24 hours or so, ground is covered down here around the house ... suspect they will continue to come raining down, given how windy it is.

Discovered that Menards has some 8' fluorescent fixtures on clearance at a decent price ($14 off, about $25 per fixture with the clearance price and rebate) Only problem is the closest store that has them is in Avon which is about 60 miles away. So probably about 5 gallons of diesel (and a couple hours of my time) to get there and back.

Agenda for the rest of the day:

Disconnect garden hose from supply line over to the barn and let it drain.

Check live trap and see if we have a customer.

See if I can get that south overhead door closed.

Think I'm going to move some stuff up to the shop that I don't want to leave outside. Will save having to tarp it.

Move Cub Cadet out of the garage and see if I can unbury the kerosene heater so the garage clean up can continue over the next several days.

Take trash/garbage up to the cans at the road.

Whatever else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a great Monday ... (y)

Went to the doctor's...
Prostate is a bit enlarged, so meds to shrink it a bit.

I've been taking Tamsulosin (generic FloMax) daily ... it's been a blessing.

BTW, enlarged prostates don't always mean cancer. Most men over 60 or so will have enlarged prostates.

Yup ... been dealing with BPH for several years now.

Also, left a urine sample to check for any infections...

Always a good idea ... ;)

Too late to make the hour drive back to work, so I'll finish up the workday from home

Called Menards and got an associate to verify that the fixtures indeed had the single-pin T-8/T-12 sockets I was looking for.

WiFi over power lines device taken over to the barn and plugged in. (Closing the overhead doors kills reception inside)

More dirt moved to the low spot in front of the north overhead door.

Got some trash hauled up to the cans at the road.

Dropped off NAPA portable air tank up at the shop.

Garden hose disconnected from water supply line and valve opened at the other end.

Tamper and round-nose shovel taken over to the barn from around back.

All the critical stuff moved back inside barn.

Just as I was finishing that it started with some light rain ... which quickly turned to sleet/snow ...

Sun back out now.

Woman had just gotten back from the grocery trip at that point so I headed over to the house to help her but She had it all unloaded by the time I got there.

Still need to take garbage and recyclables up to the cans at the road.

The Sportsmen's Club just down the road from us started their Haunted Trails this weekend. Lots of screaming coming from down there Saturday night, and heard/saw an old JD chugging down the road pulling a "hayride" wagon with highback seats along both sides. Seems like that would take all the fun out of it, not to mention blocking the view.
Did they have seatbelts and airbags? :)

On and off (mostly "on") light rain all day...
Supper is onion soup...very tasty even if it is out of a can.

Received (from Amazon) a couple pair of lined sweat pants...pretty nice other than large being too big for my skinny ass.
I ran one pair through a hot wash cycle, then a hot dryer cycle...this shrunk it enough to be usable. The other pair (never worn) is going back to Amazon and swapped for a smaller (medium) size.
I expect this to be a cold winter and with oil prices expected to rise, I like to dress warm to we can reduce the oil usage. Between these sweatpants, Flannel pajamas (and a nice comforter on the bed!), insulated trousers and fleece lined shirts, we should be OK. Bring on the snow and cold!!
A heated tractor cab, when needed, just adds icing to the cake...
