50F and clear, supposedly headed down to a low of 40F overnight ... but there is a frost warning so ...

Moved Woman's hibiscus into the garage along with the coleus and shut the door. Not enough energy to mess with anything else. Probably will not frost.

High hit 63.9F here today. Tomorrow should be a little warmer (calling for 66F) and a little less windy.

Ten Day showing only one day approaching 25% chance of rain in the period, most days showing less than a 10% chance.

Got geo-tex and vapor barrier unloaded out of the van, left the 3 sheets of foam board in it since it was fairly windy. Easy enough to unload them at any point since they weigh next to nothing.

Refueled Kubota.

Got another couple of pallets moved out of the barn.

Spent most of the day screening clay though. That will solve two problems: 1. running low on screened material to use for fill, and 2. gets rid of the big pile over on the south side of the barn, which will give me a place to stage/store pallets.

Probably 70% of the piles (wet and dry) have had their initial screening. Have been putting the material to be rescreened behind the barn where it will catch some sun which should help to dry it out.

Knocked off a little early (before it really got dark) as it was feeling just a little chilly with the wind as the sun went down.

Did not check the hopper feeder today ... but the birds were still on it when I came inside for the evening.

No customers in live trap either.

Starting to get some decent fall colors:

Expect we are about 7 to 10 days from peak colors.

Woman brought home a pizza and wings from Dominos, was ok.

Bowl of Peanut Butter Swirl ice cream and catch some of the 2nd half of the Tampa Bay/KC game then likely will place the order @ Menards for the rest of joist hangers and then grab a shower before I hit the rack.

Hope everyone had a great Sunday ... (y)

Good evening all. 48ºF for the start, light breeze, clear sky. Light wind, mostly clear sky, and high temp was 84ºF. Chapel to start day, then made pancakes for breakfast. Did some energy conservation, and swept off front porch and around gold cart door. Put boat on truck, cleaned out leaves, and recoiled anchor line and propped up motor. Early launch to chase shock boat for more carp removal in the morning.

Goodmorning !

Nice, fresh morning here. 4-6ºC
Forecasters are saying something about a nasty cyclone for second half of the week. We will see.

Anyway, was a hell of a weekend

I am making a cabin for my company.
293C23A5-423D-439C-B86E-4DF145B22BB8_1_105_c.jpeg

Friday builder put wreath (actually which would be the correct word for that thing ??) on top.
Here we have tradition, that when builders has reached highest point of the building, they put that "crown". then customer has to drop the party. if not, builder fix there filthy old trousers or something nasty like that :sneaky:
Agreed for tomorrow to throw pizza party there

Actually thinking to make my own thread how we are making such barn. Might be interesting for you

Saturday morning wake up early, while spinning in bed decided to go to fancy baker's shop. Spoil kids and wife with fancy donuts and croissant

After morning coffee orgies went in garden to check on mole traps. And there was my first prey ! That little bastard has spoiled my lawn for so long that I didnt feel sorry at all. Has tried all possible repellents, especially because near me is wast territories where he could dug all day long.

Saturday we had national elections for Parliament. Those I voted for went in first place. Not bad, even considering people has voted for ~ 10 % complete populist idiots and another 10 % openly russia friendly dudes. Anyway majority voted for the same politics we used to have and i am happy for this

At evening took my wife to movie. Silly comedy - Ticket to paradise, but she liked it. happy wife = happy life :)

Read news from Ukraine. It seems that those brave guys are doing well. Actually surprisingly good.

Sunday was just for regular errands - mowed grass (without mole mounds !), washed cars.
Wife ordered indian junkfood. Love hot food with cold beer. Good feeling to eat whatever I like, without worrying about belly issues

Today have to run company issues, make some preparations for tomorrow's "party".

Hope you guys will have the same nice day !

good morning all
44 out now, still raining lightly. And more to come for another day or two; system seems stuck off the East Coast and not going away
coffee is brewing, then I'll see how motivated I am

radishes are starting to peek out, hope to have some in about a week, tomatoes are at the end, have to keep a close eye on freeze warnings
lots of peppers still growing

hope the start to everyone's week goes well
Helogabals enjoy your party

46 going to 54 and rainy/windy. Today may set a record for this date...not the lowest temp ever, that usually happens at night, but the lowest High temp for the day. Don't often think about this measure.

Kyle, glad you're getting a chance to motivate some young folks in manufacturing.

Buppies, sorry your beach got hit hard. Thanks for sharing pix.

RS, nice colors. Ours are looking like that, too. Lots of leaves have fallen, too. Last hummingbird left Saturday, and last crepe myrtle bloom...Thay always seem to coincide.

Good morning, low temp was 27 and the high is gonna be about 59°F and sunny. Wind NNW 2 mph.

This cold has kicked the stuffing right out of me. My get up and go has got up and left and isn't coming back anytime soon.
For three days last week it was chicken soup, because I could only swallow liquids.
I coughed so much my chest hurt to cough, but couldn't stop. I got into some OTC cold pills that seemed to help some. An hour after taking two I would lay down and get an hours' sleep before the incessant coughing would wake me up. I got better sleep in my chair sitting upright. I also got into some cough syrup that the dosage was 1 tsp 3 times a day. The bottle had one of those little stoppers in it so that even little kids could pour a teaspoon without making a mess. The bottle neck is one inch wide so the little stopper of flow restriction went into the garbage. Seeing as I am the only one using this syrup I drink it right out of the bottle. It is a non-drowsy formula and made in Germany. Does it work? I don't know but it tastes good.

I phoned my manager last Thursday and begged off returning the truck on the weekend. The annual safety is up the end of October, so as long as I get it down there before that they will be happy. Probably take in down this week. He told me that he didn't need the trailers, so they could stay where they are for right now.

That is all my woes and life complaints for today.

Have a safe day all

Low was 45°, only going to 55°

1.8” rain total since Friday, more predicted the next 2 days.
I have not watched any tv of what Ian did, just what you all have reported here. I just never turn the TV on anymore.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, 45 going up to 55 and still raining.
Forecasters said up to 1" , gauge says 3" so they were not very close.
Need to empty the gauge as it only holds 5" of water and they are calling for 1" again today.

Deer are laying in the backyard trying to stay warm.

L4N - feel better soon

Trench and other water draining/redirecting swales working well.

Dog is getting better.

Mostly, I'm not sure about the high school students. But at our facility, they have to have at least 1180 at a minimum on SAT, preferably higher...and if they don't cut the mustard they get cut. But we are training young engineers. They need to know the general scope of mfg, not necessarily how to do most everything machining wise. I'm still learning myself at my age.
.
They get manual training first, and then exposed to cnc training. I hope to improve their cnc training course.
