We are looking for dog vests that protect the fronts of there legs and other area's like there chest and belly. All we can find on-line is these. Any other ones out there? Of course we searched the web for them.

Any dog with a good hunting drive will wreck themselves regularly working briars. I have a springer that has had stitches four times in 2.5 years. The worst part is keeping them in a cone until the stitches heal.

My Dad ran hunting dogs for upland game birds. They were Llewellyn Setters. He had no concerns about briars. The problem was what we called Jumping Cactus. A small Prickly Pear type cactus that grows in patches. Dogs would get them in their paws. Dogs REFUSED to wear protective foot wear. After a day of hunting quail - an hour or more pulling spines.

I know the "de-spining" process pained the dogs. But they knew it was the quick way to getting relief. Left alone the dogs feet would hurt for days.

A suggestion - try contacting ASPCA. They might have a link to what you are looking for.

ASPCA would probably tell you that it is cruel to “force” your dog to do that, and then ask you for a donation
