More of a redneck thing perhaps :)

We prefer them there pick them up trucks. :)

Seriously major dealerships are very anti-ev in this area and many of them that did carry them have dropped even service for them I know the GM place that was selling Volts did not take on the Bolt line. Many Nissan dealerships have dropped Leaf support.

Interesting they could opt out of a model or worse decline to service a vehicle they did new

2022 was predicted the year Nissan would be in bankruptcy but that was before the Pandemic jackpot shot a lot of cash plus Japan loaned them like $2 billion so they could make cheap 84 month car loans to high risk customers.

Nissan, Ford, GM etc need to dump majority of dealerships.

I love these situations where a person who owns something and likes it knows less than the people that have never owned or even driven one🤔

I’m looking for a replacement for my 15 year old truck and have seriously been following the lightening as more specimens hit the road. It looks like a great vehicle, except for range and charging. I watched a tow test with a 6000 lb camper and the tester had to stop for charging after 86 miles because he was using 1% of the extended range battery for each mile he towed. After 86 miles he had 15% battery left and couldn’t make the next charging station. He had to pull over for an hour of high speed charging, at a cost of $33, to get back home. The Ford home charger that could provide an 80% charge to the 131 kW battery in 5-6 hours requires a dedicated 80 amp 240v circuit in my garage. Yikes, that draws some power. Just imagine every garage in my neighborhood charging 2 family cars each night at 80 amps a piece. And houses like mine have 4 cars on the road each day. That’s gonna be a problem.

I expect we are 5 to 10 years out from being able to do what you're talking about in mass.

The max draw of our Leaf 6.6 amp onboard charger is 26 amps and recharge from zero to 100% about 10 hours with the new 150 mile range 40 kWh battery pack. It charges on a 240v 40 amp breaker.

Tesla is the only EV maker with a built out heavy duty charging system across the United States but I expect it will be 2025 before someone can get their hands on a cyber truck even if interested and with the cash.

Barring accidents etc the Leaf should be good for 100K miles or 2027+. Assuming the wife retires in 3 years and the kids are living 500 - 1500 miles from our home we may get a new EV for tripping. The Leaf could be just fine for local 30 to 40 mi trips probably for another 10 years or so especially if we part out the 2015 Leaf and store those parts.

This lady bought her used 2015 about the time we got our 2016. You will figure out she is not a geek. Note her 120 volt EV charging setup using the OEM cable. She didn't like pay a huge price to be able to charge a home.

Yep, it's all a scam. It's targeted towards people who are worried about what other people think of them.
I still don’t know what is targeted. Obviously other people do not either.
