Good morning!!!!

Good afternoon! The weather guessers lied again.... high was forecasted at 91°, up to 98° at 14:30. A few puffy clouds, but no organization for a storm. Maybe tomorrow.....

Sat on the front porch this morning for quite a while. Wifey and I both enjoyed watching the birds go from the feeders, over to the pond for a drink and a bath, then back to the feeders. A few squabbles amongst them ... "I was going for that sunflower seed!" ---- "No, That's mine!".....

So, after leisurely procrastinating..... I did get my motivation in line and got out to the shop. Sanded the top and got it stained. Good time to come into the cool A/C and get a couple tall glasses of iced tea. Gonna go get the tractor and move it into the courtyard in a few.....

Buppies, hope you are able to get ahead of the dehydration..... it will sneak up on you easily.

Scardy, you have more patience than I do.... I would have been out there chasing her away from the car.....

Thomas, nice to hear that you're getting back into the normal routine.

Drew, good save for the snowball bushes. We use the lilacs as a "dryness barometer".... if they are starting to get wilty... time to turn on the drip.
Hope you're able to get the cart / trailer issue worked out. Sounds like it should balance out ok.....

RNG, sorry to hear that the CEL is giving you fits again! No simple solution to be found....frustrating for sure!

Paul (PJ), sounds like you're going to get some seat time! Don't get addicted to the gravel! I'm anticipating my next gravel fix already!

Wng, sorry to hear about the 3 ticks just leisurely walking around.... glad we don't have them here (one of the few advantages here). $5 for lug nuts?-- that's just "nuts".... Sorry about the bunny.

Time for me to go get that planter situated.... Wifey hasn't seen it yet. Not anticipating that she won't like it.... I'm hoping that she doesn't want more than just the 2.

This is my "go to" outdoor hat:
shopping

I have a western hat somewhere..... probably haven't worn it in 20 years. I know it was expensive way back then....

Pics to follow shortly of the planter......

Alien, I think the beginning price starts at 80 bucks. You can wash a Tilley in the machine dozens of times, tough hat, big fan of boaters

Now this isn't a dress hat, a Stetson sure is. So maybe 267 is the start of a "fancy" hat, to go with your nice boots. For a night on the town, with the top down.
I've purchased a number of hats here:
and here:

Good quality, but not overly expensive.
I have a trilby, couple of straw fedoras...couple others
Not into the cowboy hat style and I prefer casual hats, but a bit dressier than a ball cap
Filson makes quality gear too

not much fun this afternoon getting an epidural. Got lightheaded and sweaty when I got up, back down I went.
Body isn't used to being on my stomach particularly with face stuck down that hole, rubbery, sure hope they cleaned it, it was rubbing all over my face after the paper tore.
Shot hurt, normally it doesn't. So I found out later they also offer propofol. But first they have to try it the local anesthetic route and see if that works.
Today was not pleasant. Most of these shots I've had propofol with and it was painless. Just had to sit around a full half hour afterwards. Like they made me do today.
Apparently my face had gone white, that must have had them worried. Yeah, next time, give me the good stuff and I'm going to happy land.

Drove home in heavy commuter traffic, happy to get on back roads and got behind a Transit van headed for home. And he wasn't dawdling. Then I got followed for the last few miles by local unmarked Explorer. It has the double numbers in front, maybe the Chief's personal silver Tahoe. Spotlight, antennas, yup.
Will find out from my brother. I went 5 over which is way slower than average and I knew he knew it.
And you can imagine I waited for the car to rock backwards at the stop sign. I do anyway but it seems to tick off folks behind you, who seem to think they are always entitled to cruise
through the stop at slow speed. I enjoy slowing them down, particularly at 4 way stops where there is a lot of cross traffic.
They think they are in India where you never stop, blow your own, and keep going.
Get a woman in her Mercedes suv with a cell phone in her hand and defensive driving is the word.

Roy, nothing can top your hat in your avatar.

tomorrow morning I finally work on the trailer. Rained out this morning, too tired now.
Friend will come over to help. Need another set of eyes to watch the rear differential/trans housing which will be first thing to hit when backing up
after the rear stop, thanks to the 3" lift, clears the front railing by six inches. But I do not want to dent that housing. I'll put permanent wood blocks on the floor if need be.
Then I have four tie downs to install. They did not provide hardware. Going through wood floor I need to drill. I'm thinking stainless bolts, washers and nuts, plus loctite.
I might get lucky and find some metal under there in the corners.
Six pairs of straps. Just like a boat, front and rear crossed lines and two more "spring" lines holding the golf cart at a different angle.
They seem to come loose a lot so I always stop at least once to check tightness.

hope you all have a nice evening.

Have to be careful diabetes and most Gatorade don’t mix Thanks for suggestion, I still believe the man upstairs is trying to tell me something

Kidney disease and sport drinks don’t mix either.

Got the planter moved. It got a lot heavier all assembled..... Used leverage to muscle it onto the bucket. Came off a bit easier, kinda "walked" it. Wifey is happy with the way it turned out.

Now I just have to assemble the second one. They won't get filled until the entire design of the walkway is figured out.

Turned out better than I expected using repurposed materials.

Good Morning / Afternoon (I guess)

It is very wet today, raining all day.

The Man Hunt continues, and this morning a low flying Helicopter flew directly over my house, doing the rounds at about 100 feet altitude. I hope this ends soon. Still very quiet on any details.

buckeyefarmer - I agree with you. I do my best to pay bills, keep ahead of things, and although I have followed Dave Ramsey for 30 yrs, I am not a purist, and I don't accept everything as Ramsey style. I am all over the place on the baby steps, but lets just say that I have formulated my approach from numerous authors and Biblical approaches. I'm pretty good with budgets (I have to be with only one income)... it's a fascinating topic for me. I prefer PowerAde (the electrolytes have been great at times) over Gatorade, but that might be the Coke / Pepsi debate all over again :)

riptides - sounds similar to my day, but that means that I am closer to the coffee pot

pennwalk - terrific. have you ever listened to some of the Playing For Change stuff ?

wngsprd - sorry about the bunny loss

Roy J and others - I love hats, and knives ... I don't have many, but I like the ones that I have

Stay safe everyone, whether you are in the Heat, the Wet, or a mix ... some things can wait for another day.

toppop52 - I just saw your note. Take care especially, glad that you are getting good medical attention, but that is a challenge for sure. I hope that you can get home tomorrow. Praying for a quick and full recovery.

for you r/c airplane guys
very expensive plane meets its end
But before that, it made me dizzy watching that plane fly.
Seems like a lot more g force than a manned plane could take.

Not sure I'd want any corn out of that corn field with all that drypowder dumped in it...
thank goodness it's only a toy.
I think I'd want a little Cirrus with a parachute.

Popgadget has the most amazing green fields to land these planes in. I originally thought they were runways.
His mowing machinery defines top of the line, best quality and when he's done and looks back with a sleeping
grandson on his lap, that field must look mighty fine.

Lot of zerks. need a good powered grease gun.
I grew up with an ancient grease gun on the farm and had to load it with a giant spoon scooping out of
a bucket of grease. It was the stone age of greasing compared to today. I bet some of you did that at some point long ago.
No matter what I'd get slimed with grease.
Even back then though I knew it was important to grease the fittings. And check the oil. And watch the temp gauge.

whoa, sorry Randy, get that crap out of your lungs quick. Hope antibiotics knock it out overnight.
