what hydraulic fluid for 535

i have a farmtrac 535 tractor. it is time to replace the hydraulic fluid, but i do not know what spec to use. any help would be appreciated.

I have a 665 DTC. The manual calls for 80w90 ep (extreme pressure). It is available at Tractor Supply for $70/5 gallon, also at Carquest for a little more.

Maybe you can help me. I want to replace the hydraulic control value for my loader. What would be the proper fluid flow per minute required for a 60-hp tractor?

WOW!
That sounds way to heavy of a weight for any hydraulic pump. Hydraulics have closer tolerances than engines and way closer than anything that uses 80w90wt.
Are you sure that spec is intended for hydraulics? It's true that some tractors use a multipurpose transmission/hydraulic oil but 80w90 is a rear end oil for big old clunky differential gears.
Most hydraulic oil is fairly light....lighter than engine oil. It approaches power steering fluid.

Here is the page out of the Service Manual. I thought that sounded really heavy, also. I usually use the Premium Hydraulic oil at Tractor Supply, but the 80w90 EP is the stuff to use in my tractor.

I see it. Thanks for the posting.
I always thought those Farmtracs were using a pretty basic and universal tractor engine/transmission/hydraulic design. But that spec is either a misprint or there is something very unique about the way their mechanical system is designed.
I wonder which it is?

These model Farmtracs are Ford. Ford tractors were made by Fiat, Shirbaura, Escort and I am sure several others. The older tractors were all Fords. Then came the Fordson (I think that was a Ferguson/Ford Combo). If I have my facts right Ford quit making tractors in 1992, but the name carried on with Ford New Holland. Then prior manufacturers of the Fords rebranded them on the Ford design. LS is another one that used the Ford/New Holland design.

The way I see it, those were all very similar tractor designs. I see more mechanical similarities than differences. Nothing that I know about in their common design could explain a recommendation to use 80w90 axle lube in a hydraulic system.
