I picked up an old water pump today but it’s not like any I’ve seen.
Does anybody know where I could find out more about this pump?

It has two wooden treadle type vanes that seem like they would “swish” the water as the handle is pumped from the mechanism kinda like duck’s feet and the inlet seems to only be a foot or so below the mounting plate.

It has F.E. Myer & Bro Ashland O USA on it.
I found that company and some pages but not this specific pump.

Anyone out there have any info? I’m going to attempt to restore it and sit it in my old rock walled well in the front yard.

Any info appreciated.

Do the paddles move with the handle?

Otherwise it looks just like a cylinder piston pump. Can’t tell which direction it pumps in. It also very similar to a bilge pump.

For some reason it would look like a pump set in a tank and the paddles are for mixing whatever is pumped in??

I was thinking a bilge type pump.

You have the same guess as I. Some type of pump set in a tank and mixing.
It’s frozen so I have to get it apart but will take some more pictures and post before I do.

Why do I get the feeling that I’m about to go off into yet another rabbit hole! ….

I think you are already deep into the rabbit hole. :ROFLMAO:

Never heard or seen a bilge pump that had paddles. I too think it was use to mix and pump something.

Later,
