"New" Tiller Draw Pins Too Close Together

I've been to four or five tractor dealers in this area. Longest pins I've seen were probably 6".

OR - have special pins made at a local machine shop. However - having the attachment points for the quick hitch spread that wide could make the entire "hook up" rather fragile.

5030 - has the best suggestion.

That was my concern too. If there were a larger flange to bolt a block of steel to, then it might be easy to extend. Skipping the quick hitch is looking attractive at this point.

Quick hitches have a down side.

Even Pat's are no walk in the park, very wide or very narrow. But I use 'em! ;-)

He could hook up to that implement with Pat's qh , if your lift arms will adjust in narrow enough to hook to it the Pat's qh will work.

Never used a quick hitch or Pats. My lower links telescope on both tractors. No TNT either.

On my small tractor neither one of my lift arms telescope and that's why I like the quick hitch, but on my big tractor both arms telescope and I have no need for a quick hitch.

Double check pto rotation direction and pto shaft length as it may force your decision.

Go to machine shop or steel sales and get something like a 4x4x3/8 (dimensions will very according to implement width) rectangular steel tube and use as a spacer to extend pins out to match you QH ... Modify tiller once to fit QH and be happy forever...

Personally the ease of backing up to implement, raise #PH hitch to engage implement pins and flipping the locks takes less than a minute, would not have it any other way....

You probably have bastardized CAT 0 tiller...

Thank you for the suggestion, DL- I've been noodling along those lines and will take another look with your thought of using a spacer like that. I was also thinking of getting a 7/8" grade B7 threaded rod, and using a Cat 2 bushing over it to reduce likelihood of it bending. But your idea is probably better if I can choose square tubing that will contact more of the mount bracket. I'll look at that today.

I wonder about the Cat 0 idea in that it is a 5'5" tiller. While I don't know much about it that seems like a large attachment to be pulling with Cat 0. Also, the draw pins are 7/8" which leads me to think maybe it is more of a bastardized Cat 1. Driveshaft and clutch arrive tomorrow, so I should be able to connect it directly to the tractor to get started while I sort out the QH connection.
