I have quite a few customers that use them. Work geat. Easy to install and just leave installed.

Well 5PM and back on National Grid power, finally still no idea of what happened.

Doesn't seem to have caught the time change this morning, or at least not until after the weekly cycle.

It shows the correct current time now, but ran an hour later.

I was out walking and was somewhere around 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile away and could hear it running. Across a mostly open field with a few tress and the wind was blowing that way, so that may have been part of it. Might be kind of annoying in the 'Burbs with several running though.

grs it looks like that gizmo needs to be at the meter, is this correct?
My meter is several hundred feet from the house and shop. I do have a spare conduit between and was planning on a simple pilot light coming off the street side of my manual transfer switch to a little led type pilot in the shop.
I ran 7 hours (overnight) last week and during the night, I don't loose any sleep over a few hours of unnecessary run time, but if checking only meant a short walk to the shop (and not getting dressed for a winter walk) I'd likely check it every few hours. 👍

No, it can be anywheres the main power line is. For instance if the feed from the meter runs into house panel in garage, just hook it to the lined going from the meter into the garage panel. It need to hook up to any utility fed wire, that does NOT get powered up by a generator. In other worde place it before the generator interlock so it only sees utility power.

Thanks, I did a poor job describing my set up. My meter and disconnect are freestanding mounted back to back on a pair of posts - 200'+ away from the house and the generator is directly next to it.

My service "pedestal" with the meter on the left side and the xfer sw on the rt. That corner is the generator building.

Ok, i see that the transfer switch is also out there, that makes things alot harder. This switch needs to be set just before the transfer switch.

with your setup, you may need to install a 120 volt light, hooked up before transfer switch, with a switch out there, that can be seen from the house. Then when power is out, flip switch. Light will reamin off until utility is back up.

i did not realize what your setup was like. Youll never hear that alarm 200 feet out.

My old habit of throwing in a
few spare conduits once the ditch is open will pay off. I've got 1 or 2 open at that pedestal that goes back to the house to operate a light off of the street side of the transfer sw.
