Good morning!!!!

Started digging into a problem The Wife said she had with one of the track lights over the piano. I couldn't get it to fail ... which is OK after some research found that replacements are not readily available. Sure wish we'd known that when we bought it.
(MFW).

Our church building has LED downights in the auditorium ceiling. Some of the LED panels are going out. Can’t replace the LED only, looks like the whole fixture (above the drywall) has to get replaced. These LED fixtures sure won’t save any money.

We have some fixtures like that, too, BEF. This one has one LED mounted on a board in each unit, with a plastic lens over it, and a plastic bezel mounted around that to hold it in place. She told me it had started pulsing. I let it run for a couple of hours yesterday after removing all the plastic it's encased in, and it never had any problems. I'm thinking it's heat-related. It's the light over her piano, so she got annoyed when it started pulsing over her sheet music ... which I can completely understand.

I looked on the Lowe's website to find replacements, and found a plethora of bad reviews commenting on the same thing; units go out and replacements aren't readily available. The distributor did reply on a couple of them offering to get them parts, so I'm going to contact them to see what they can do. We like the light, but may have to eventually replace it with something more serviceable. For now, I'll see if I can get parts to keep it working.

Naturally, it's 5-year warranty has just expired.

weren't we all sold on the 1/10th the amps and 10 times the life for LEDs?
They should have more easily interchangeable lamp modules, uh, think flourescent bulb but easier...
Now it's all built in and almost disposable apparently.
Good to know.

had a nice trip with the truck this morning to local garden place, on a 74 degree day just had to do something in the garden.
So I got four bags of organic compost, which is half cow manure, and spread that over the small raised gardens.
Then brought the tomato and pepper cages out and put them in different spots than last year. Birds like to perch on them

I expect this will make it snow...

The "official" rules say our garbage men will take up to 10 bags of garbage on collection day. Now I usually have 1 in the Winter and 3 in the Summer when I bag clippings. But today . . . I had 16 big bags out there and they didn't hesitate at all about taking all of them.

I know some people, some places, complain about garbage collection, but we now have $11.94 a month on our city water bill for once a week garbage collection by Community Waste Disposal and I've NEVER had any reason to complain.

I pay zero for my garbage collection and NEVER have any complaints, either. :ROFLMAO:

I agree, the $20 month I pay for trash pickup is a bargain. Especially after seeing the line of trucks waiting at the landfill last week. I love trash day when it all disappears.

Yeah, I had a major addition about 10 years ago. Probably 30 new point light fixtures all told. Everyone was bragging on LED fixtures. The fixtures only cost slightly more than A19's but obviously included bulbs.
At the time A19 bulbs (60 watt equivalent LED bulbs, 9 watt, 750 lumens) were like $5@ and higher lumens astronomical.
I said NO WAY and had quality A19 fixtures put in.
Now I can buy 2,000 lumen bulbs for about $5, and the 750's for < $1 and the fixtures will probably last decades.
Or I can buy wireless "smart bulbs" for ~$12 and control them from my Android phone.

My wife wants a small easy to water garden this year, and your pictures gave me good ideas (thanks!). Few questions: for raised beds do you use ground contact treated boards? Do you till area first, I assume you do, or not necessary?
I have loads of horse manure mixed with straw.
