If you need to kill the power going to the building how do you accomplish that?
Its on the main panel breaker box. Only other option is for the power company to throw a cutoff switch at the transformer.

Sorry but gotta agree with dstig, I can't believe the roofers didn't consider properly flashing and sealing all protrusions as part of their responsibility?!? That's insane. Get a proper flashing boot over all your pipes asap. Seal the crap out of the flange to the metal roof with the proper adhesive. And then screw the flashing into the roof every single inch around the perimeter of the flange. Overkill is necessary for long term performance. Right now you have almost nothing.

Overszd, you hit the main/master breaker atop your panel. Why add a redundant switch? If you have to service the entire panel or feed, you go back to the transformer to disconnect (rarely ever needed).

After watching the video, it is indeed a poor job on the roofers part of not flashing the vent pipes ! Not sure i would ever recommend them to do roofing work !

Again, it's always surprising to me how things are so different to control a common issue such as electrical. So you have to call the power company to kill power to your building? What if the building is on fire?

Yes...only the power company can kill power to the building. That being said the fire department can take the meter out if needed ! Once the fire hits the breaker box it will kill the power ! I rarely ever see a disconnect between the meter and the main breaker box on residential buildings ,,,,,commercial yes.

What I've started doing with chimney installations is bending the tin up all around the hole. You take a small pair of pliars and bend a flange in the tin so that any water that manages to leak through the flashing along the roof is directed around the hole. It's an easy diy that adds a economical level of safety from water leaks.

That would never fly here. Very interesting to see differences.
